Default First Camaro

Well, I finally got my first Camaro. It will be delivered to my driveway on the 2nd of April. It's a 2010 2SS 6 Speed Manual 6.2L. I've had a Viper SRT-10 Truck. Loved it, till the day I killed it. (Rolled side to side 5 times, Flipped twice) Wild ride that one. Had a 09 Charger R/T, but my parents needed a new ride, so I gifted it to them. Have mainly had Chevy P/U's in the past though, but never really learned about em. They always stayed pretty much stock. Figured I would go on and get a Camaro and see what they are all about, and begin the learning process. I'm a newbie, so I'm unsure of all the terminology. Don't know much about 4th gen, 5th gen, LS this or LT that. I don't know what gen or version of motor i have, so Any help in this regard would be appreciated so I can follow you guys and learn about my new to me ride. Also, it has some sort of CAI on it, not sure what brand though. Magnaflow cat back and a hurst short throw shifter. Any suggestions for bolt on power adders, as I am not mechanically inclined enough to break off into the motor...YET. throttle bodies, exhaust, tuners, things of this nature would definitely be appreciated. Thanks in advance guys and gals. Keep the rubber on the road unless you're yanking the front at the track.

CAI almost looks like a home-made set up. The car has an LS3 376ci. (6.2 liter) Aluminum engine. Basics for bolt on's I'd look at a new well proven CAI kit, maybe from Cold Air Inductions Inc. I'd do a full headers/hi flow cats/full exhaust set up of some kind. Those are the basic starter bolt on's for a 5th gen car. After that I'd look into under drive pulleys, intakes, etc. For appearance stuff considering the car is Silver I would start with tint, rear panel blackout kit and an upper grill blackout kit since it's got the heritage grill installed. There's a good aftermarket for the 5th gen Camaro's you just have to know where to look and to search online to see what others have done to theirs, to get idea's.

Thanks 1BAF. I appreciate the insight. That's some handy info to have. I appreciate all the tid bits I can get. I have no idea what brand the CAI is. I was looking into the Cold Air Inductions one. Would a full exhaust swap void my warranty? DR_Whigham and I have been discussing this abd we have convinced ourselves that it shouldn't..LOL.
Thanks again

HAHA..LMAO!!! I've seen that video a hundread times.. Nah bro that wasn't me. I did mine in up in Mayfield Kentucky, on an interstate doing over 120 as the speedo said. I was actually going like 30 in a forwardly direction completely sideways. Drifting up an on ramp and ejected the truck from the interstate up a 20' embankment. One thing i can say about kentucky roads, is they are very transitional friendly from asphault to grass.

I did bro. This is what the motor is going in. 1972 Dodge van that runs 12's all ready. My boy Alik is putting it in as we speak. He lives in Oregon. Drove 2600 miles to come pick it up.

Pretty cool man. I would have found me a Duster or Demon though.

I told him that.. He insisted on putting it in the van though. :/ His brother is the owner of KORACING.NET specializez in turboing toyota's. but will pretty much turbo anything. lol.

So i have been looking at the hallmark and cold air inductions kits. they seem evenly priced, and as far as flow rates fairly matched between the two. I would lean toward the Inductions one though, purely due to the see through cover over the filter. That would seem to me to keep the filter cleaner/longer?

Forgot this. Looking at texas-speed website. They have some nice exhaust kits. And americanracingheaders does as well. ARH is claiming with their headers and a tune 433rwhp on a stock filter. Shoot, that with a Throttle body would be plenty for me for now

I recommend the AirAide oiled filter CAI. No need to spend half again as much on a cold air kit that doesn't realy flow any better.
