Default Least objectionable but deepest sounding exhaust

A friend has a boat with twin inboard 454 V8s that has the nicest exhaust note. Subtle, but deep and muscular sounding. That has gotten me thinking about an axle back system for my camaro (car in sig).

What would be a good exhaust system with the least objectionable noise level but that sounds pretty deep?

I would say Magnaflow or GMPP Axleback and TSP headers and high flow cats. Before I bought my car I was researching it and the Magnaflow had the sound I liked best. My car had the GMPP Axleback on it when I purchased it though and sounded virtually the same as the Magnaflow. When I added the TSP headers and cats it was the exact sound I was looking for.

Thanks a lot! I'll definitely look into both of those. Where do you get GMPP stuff? Do you get it from a Chevy or GM dealer or from online?

It's kind of a fine line between wanting a nicer exhaust note (like those mercruiser 454s on the boat) and at the same time not wanting to cheese off the neighbors/HOA and draw unnecessary and unwanted attention from law enforcement.

What is the drone like with that system?

My system doesn't drone. The GMPP parts can be ordered online or through any GM/Chevrolet dealership. Your neighbors want mind it.

To buy it new the Magnaflow is cheaper. But you may score a GMPP take off for cheap.

What about the Borla ATAK? I really like the sound of that. Sounds almost just like the boat I'm talking about. Is it a lot louder?

It's a matter of preference. The ATAK has a reputation for drone.

ATAK is pretty loud compared to magnaflow. i would look into spintech mufflers, they have many different mufflers for different preferences.

I like Kooks personally. We sell and install a lot of these systems, and also run them on our own cars. I have this on our 2010 Camaro. It's not obnoxious, but still has a great sound to it, especially with the cam. It's my favorite personally and we see a lot of different exhausts come through here.
