hate it!
I hate this new camaro, it is almost like a regular looking car from the 60's being brounght back with and ugly retro style, and new technology! Who do they want to target 40 50 year old people! im only 20 and i would stick with my trans am and when it gets old and dont wanna start no more. i Would get another one!

They should sharped the latest Camaro instead of the 1st gen.
It's like everything that has been done in the last few years:
- Hollywood got out of ideas, so they went retro, there are no "new" good movies.
- Ford got out of ideas, they went retro, lucky of them they got out of ideas first.
I smell a lack of creativity in the air...
GM should spend more time creating and developing than watching tv and following the competition!
At the time everythings looking the same, it is the time they should think the most and come up with something NEVER seen, don't just look at the past and bring it back with some late flashy wheels. That's what restorers do.
I want to see the future, not the past!!!
Oh! another thing... transformers is the worst movie ever. And the 2nd place: saw.

I haven't seen anything that looks like the new Camaro... it isn't a copy of the old, it just has some design elements that are the same. It has some design cues from the new 'vette too.
You can't really help that everyone likes the styling of cars from the '60s. And it isn't really a new fad, people have liked that styling of car for a long time now. Anyone running a car company would be an idiot not to style a sports car off of retro styling.
Plus judging from the polls I have seen of people's opinion of the 5th gen, including this one, it seems like it is the most popular a Camaro has ever been after it has first been shown. The vast majority like the looks of it.

it took a little while for that front end to grow on me, but now I love it. I am just concerned about the 6cyl models, seems pointless. Wish they would come out with a Trans Am. Haven't heard anything though

I thought the new Camaro looked ok in the pictures, but I just saw it in person at the Houston auto show. The thing is really awesome looking when you walk around it. I think the huge rims are a bit much, but like it was said earlier, that probably is just an option. There was a pretty good crowd around the car, and it didn't look too out of place next to a pair of Z06s. The other attractions were the Nissan GTR and Audi R8 - drooool.

I thought the new Camaro was suppose to be a true hard-top with no center side post & a roll down rear side glass .
Just another disappointment on top of all the others .

For the same reason that the concept version is shown with no post , it looks better . Besides there are times when the weather is just right and you would like to enjoy the fresh air . Motoring along in a hard-top with all the windows down on a balmy summer night just has to be experianced . Listening to your engine & exhaust is one of the pleasures of owning a high performance V8 , isn't it ?

In my opinion, they had a good idea.
1st gen camaros are SEX. They tried to bring back the first gen camaro, but with a similar yet different exterior to try and attract BOTH the people who love first gens (Your 40+ crowd typically) along with the younger crowd (16-30).
Great idea, i love first gens and im 16 so i also like some current stuff.. but they didn't exactly hit this design on the head. Could be better IMO.. I would rather buy a 69 if i wanted the body style..

Well Coming from a Mustang Owner, I am buying a Camaro to park right next to my Mustang and Challenger.
I like the new look, it is a little CTS looking but overall I gave it an 8
Being that it's built on the Zeta platform that is shared with the Cadillac I expect it to weight a bit more than the Mustang and with the Larger LS3 or L76 engine and IRS I expect it to cost a little more.
The 05 Mustang GT Base 25K avg price 27K
300hp 320tq 3450lbs
The 08 Mustang GT Base 28K avg price 30K
300hp 320tq 3450lbs
The New 2010 Mustang GT Base 31K avg est price 34K
5.7L 375hp - 420hp 3600 - 3650 lbs with IRS Rear
The New 2010 Camaro (Z-28 or SS) 33K avg est price 36K
375hp - 425hp 3650 -3700 lbs with IRS Rear
The First year will be a close contenders, but GM always had
engines that got better milage and performance so it will be worth the
extra few grand

The Zeta platform is Holden's RWD platform that debuted in 2006 with the new Commodore and the first Zeta car in the US is the Pontiac G8, it will be followed by the G8 ST (modern El Camino SS) and then the Camaro. The Commodore/G8 weighs 3,995 lbs.
