The current YSI’s cast wheel on the left, and the new billet wheel on the right. Advances in material construction as well as aerodynamic testing have resulted in a product that is substantially better across all performance areas.

Are you doing a back to back comparison, or has it not run yet with the old cast wheel ?

I emailed them several times over the last 3-4 years about a new wheel....every time hit a dead end.

2 months after I found my billet wheels in a pair of turbos....they released the new one lol Too late.

it will be a "kinda of" back to back comparison.
with the cast wheel on the dyno I had blow off valve issues and tire slip on the dyno so I couldn't get good dyno numbers.
the numbers were only in the high 900's rwhp. the car has made as high as 1017 rwhp on the old set-up.

the new billet impeller is designed to increase boost. The additional power gains will be achieved by the additional boost and fuel.
vortech's testing has shown an increase of 4 pounds of boost and 150 horsepower.

I'd be interested if it increases boost with bigger pulleys so you don't have to run the smallest one and get belt slip.

that is a great point that you bring up.
I fixed my belt slip issues by using a cog setup.

New impeller should be designed to increase airflow, not boost.

Interesting that the wheel still looks quite normal. Almost all turbo compressors now cope BW's ETT design.

The new YSi wheel doesnt seem to bother with it though ? Will be good to see some real world end user results.

The YSI needs improvements. The wheel is a good step but I would like to see a better step ratio in it. The retarded small pulleys you have to run is annoying.
