Default 6L80 TM removal?

The Camaro was tuned with HP Tuners and the TM was removed. At the track it spins going into 2nd and 3rd. I want to fix that so it doesn't spin and make it safer at the track and maybe pick up a little time too. I have EFI Live and want to soften the shifts a little.

Any tuners out there that can help?

Here are some vids so you can see what I mean by spinning on the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

BTW, it is a 2010 Camaro L99 6spd Auto.

Why wouldnt u just put a stickier set of tires on it at the track?Get a second set of rims with some mt drag radials.Check out OrangeChevyII setup .I believe he's runnin a 18' corvette rim with a dr on it.

Those runs were with Nitto 555R DR's on stock wheels. Also, I even tried lowering the PSI to 15 to no avail. I should be able to adjust the shifting in the TCM. Just need to know what parameters to change.

Im assuming a 20' rim correct?Your gonna need to run a 18' rim and a mt dr to get everything out of the car.Nittos on a 20' rim arent gonna cut it,a 20' rim or bigger just isnt condusive to good track times.Programing more tm into the equation,is only covering up the problem and takin away the potential of the car.Put a really good tire on it,play with the shift points,an try diff launch rpms to see what it likes.

You want to add the torque management back into the tune?

I have a buddy that run's 10.80's on a 20" Nitto drag radial. They are great tires
for a 20". I'm sure you know that you have to do a John Force style burnout to really
get some heat into those Nittos.

It dead hooks of the line but when going into 2nd it kicks to the side while spinning. The track was prepped good on the start but only for the first 60ft or so. I did not want to go any lower than 15 PSI in the tires. I heat the tires up by spinning until they grab and shoot the car forward then try a dry burnout. If it doesn't spin I know the tires are ready if not I do another burnout.

I can try 18" wheels with other DR's but it will not help me on the street. It would still shift very harsh. If I could just reduce the amount of TM taken out it would be perfect.

I never really had alot of success with nittos at the track. But u are correct,i think if u do a bigger/longer burnout at the track ;ala johforce style they will work better for u.You gotta really put alot of heat in these tires, for them to work.I was assumin u were talkin about a track setup, thats why i sugested that rim/tire setup.I still dont think u wanna add tm back in .You will be takin potential out of the car.Maybe check out bmr for there new susp parts.Prolly will help ya hook .

Go back and enable all TM under transmission. Then try shortening your 1-2 and 2-3 upshift times. Then under Engine Spark there are new spark limiters tables in the latest beta. Adjust them to your liking. Might take some experimenting but I think with those new tables you can get there.

Im using those same 20'' Nittos putting them at 11psi running 11.0's . I gotta do the nastiest burnout you can think of to pull off a decent 60' . If i dont my 1/4 et is .5 slower. IMO those tires arent made for what we are trying to do with them. There just the closest thing avaliable right now. Junk IMO !! Go withe the smaller wheels and watch the times drop.... look @ OrangeChevy II 's set up.

I know the post is alittle old but I did some testing on my car. I ran 28lbs in them and dead hooked the bastards to a lame 1.93 60' and the shifts were harder than yours.Barely barked the tires. Ended up[ running 12.5 at 111mph 3 times.

I'm guessing your shift times are too low. These tranny's tune different than the older 4L60's.

There are also alot of tables in our software to scale back tq management that unfortunately your software hasn't unlocked for you yet so it might not just been the shift times...things like shift tq facter for each shift really help.

Can't believe it has been a year, lol.

Have and use both EFI Live and HP Tuners. Softened up the shifting and switched to the newer Nitto NT05R in a 315 for better grip.

Here are newer vids:

Ran back to back 11.3's that day.

The tranny is going away again though. The tuning will be finalized with HPT then switched to EFI so we can use a switch to run different tune for a 300 shot.

with your power level your trans should not be going, diffently a tune issue, with the new beta software there is alot more control of the tq management with really allows the tuner to dial it in for both performance and trans longevity.

On the dyno it made +640hp and 811tq and the tune was not yet finalized because a bad ground with the nitrous.

The tuner also tunes my cousins Camaro and it runs 10.3's consistently with a Maggie at 14 PSI.

I went to your shop to schedule some time to dyno tune it but you never called back. I was in a bit of a hurry so I ended up using RPM, Haddad and Adam@ST for some stuff.

yeah the reason i didnt feel like tuning your ride was because you had gone to multiple other shops already, i am not the type to get involved in that... also you wanted me to drive to anahiem to get your camaro running at another shop, which i believe had another tuner there, didnt feel like dealing with that either.... sorry if this is offensive, not my intention

i wouldnt take it all the way out, but rather limit the amount of timing it pulls on shifts, which the new beta software offers.
