Gen 5 Camaro
I noticed that the Gen 5 category on the site is now gone, so I decided this would be a good place to start. I have a couple friends that work at the GM design center here in the D (Detroit), and I guess they just had a security breech, someone stole photos of the new Gen 5 Camaro. Although I have no pics, they're out there. And I have confirmation that the Gen 5 is retro similar to a 69. They're also supposed to be at the autoshow this year as well. I can't wait. I just finished my degree last night (BBA in Finance)...Hopefully I can fine a job soon so I can get a new Z!!!! My current 01 Z will be paid off soon. You know that this thing's gonna rock the new Mustakes.

I think retro is retard. It is like remaking of a song or a movie.
GM should have some designers spend some time on this forum (Anonymous) and get a feel for what enthusiasts are hungry for.
To name a few points:
1- Beefier differential (solid not IRS)
2- Easy engine bay access
3- Frame provision for true duals
4- 6 speed manual designed so you cannot miss-shift or a 5 speed Triptronic paddle shifted
5- A 4 Ohms stereo/cd so you can upgrate speakers without trashing the head unit.
6- 6L Z28 base and Limited number SS with the 427
7- 3000 lbs max (can you say Carbon Fibre)
Leave the modding to us

man, the car on z28.com is bad azz. if it looks half as good, id buy one. I can understand why retro is a controversial idea, but the 67-69 is arguably the best looking camaro (besides gen 4's), so why not take that, and make it better? that thing look so much better than the new mustangs...

I think this absolutely looks hideous. When I saw this, i thought.....hmmm, mustang? I wouldn't step foot near that POS. And I can almost guarantee that this thing isn't going to be the performance machine everyone hopes it'll be....but I guess we'll all just have to wait till the AutoShow

i want a cheap car. "weight reduction is for those that cant make enough power" -Enzo
weight reduction is an expensive way to gain performance. At such low levels of performance, its easier to just go with bigger tires are more power

Am I the only one that doesn't want another retro car? Unless it looks like the one the kid designed in PHR, then I don't want it. This one looks hideous

well, if the camaro is a 505hp car with CNCed heads on tires that wide (315?) then you'd have a point
Factory wise, there isn't much else they could do on the Z06 other than boost and weight reduciton.
I'm assuming its going to be a 345-385hp car on 275s with cast heads.
