09 Camaro Unveiled in Ft Lauderdale
Many thanks to the man himself, Scott Settlemire, for a wonderful afternoon of F-Body magic as the 2009 Camaro prototype was unveiled for a select group of invitees at the 2006 Auto Show in Fort Lauderdale.
Chevrolet really pulled out the stops with:
*Free lunch
*Private unveiling of the car
*Total access to the car for photo purposes
*Free entry to the rest of the car show a full two hours before the public were allowed in
*Up close and personal Q&A session with Scott on all things automotive.
Let's make this an annual event, FBodfather!

Yea I was there for it as well on Behalf of Mercedes Benz. Was there an FBODY Party or something that I didn't kow about ? I pulled up to the 5th floor and low and behold there were 4 other FBody's, 2 WS6's and 2 Z28's parked right next to each other, along with numerous others scattered throughout the parking garage and leaving.

There was a private, by invitation only event Chevrolet held at noon for an unveiling of the car. We got a full two hour head start on the show before anyone else. Was well worth the afternoon to attend, let me tell you. My SOM Hawk was on the fourth floor out of the sun and tucked in a corner nice and safe. Guess I was the only Pontiac person there...

I only found about it by accident and you had to sign up over on CamaroZ28.com.
They did this in Minnesota, Texas and Florida. I was thrilled we got the REAL working prototype, not the red one that's just a fiberglass shell they used in L.A.

I guess I missed it. I also passed a Silver SS that was leaving as I was coming in, I gave a quick wave..

Scott mentioned there WOULD be chnages, but not significant.
Wheels will never make it to production; car is too wide to fit into a trailer; gauges are not production quality; but OH THE ENGINE IN THIS CAR!!!
I'd sell body parts to have the engine in this car in my Firehawk.
More pics to come...

I want to thank GM and Scott for putting this event together. That Camaro will be my next car that thing was impresive. You really can't appreciate it until you see it in person. I really like the style and quality of cars that GM is coming out with.

Well I went down to South FL today and saw it. Looks very cool, but they had it next to a yellow C6 Z06, so I had a hard time keeping my eyes on the camaro . The car does look pretty sweet though, I'd post some pics but they're no different than the 3-million pics of the car that are flying around the internet already so ya know. I have to be honest though, I'm not a huge fan of it. Just personal opinion, but they had the new cobra there also and DAMN that thing looks mean. Still though, nothing comes close to that Z06, that thing is just sex on wheels.

I posted some pics from my phone in the Automotive Media,News,Events section, and just now saw this thread. I was quite surprised to see it in FL, not to mention, to happen to be on that side at the time!
