You only betray your ignorance.

Again, you all act like the GTO rear is a weak piece. There are guys taking it well into the 10's in stock form. The M6 will be a little rougher in it, but it can still take some power. I know of someone here in KC that's gone a 1.55 60' on the stock rear (m6). Get rid of the wheel hop and don't shock the driveline and you'll be fine.

damn why dont you guys accept its coming with a fucken irs, if it bothers ya that much switch it out. they aint gonna change it out now. geez.
I talked with GM and they won't put a 12 bolt in unless the car weighs a certain amount, I can't remember if they said 3800 or 4000 lbs.

manager? what? I said I can't recall so don't quote me, but I'm thinking the requirement for GM to put a 12 bolt is something the Camaro will never weigh.. I hope that's clear enough.
wow..
its coming with IRS , get used to saying that.

Since GM obviously did A TON of research(including with consumers) before deciding on the IRS, and even here at LS1tech the IRS has a lead in voting...the obvious reality is the public wants IRS.
The car will be faster in more situations without compromising anything in stock or lightly modified form with an IRS. For the tiny percentage of owners that actually need a live rear axle, the modification will cost little more than the currently NEEDED swap on 4th gens, lol.
IRS will make this Camaro more desireable to a greater number of owners than the Mustang. I'm not saying it will sell more, but cross shoppers(and reviewers!) will notice the difference and it will influence buyers accordingly...or we could have this car for 3-5 years and never see it again, easy choice if you ask me.

I don't mind the IRS as long as 1. it does'nt make the car too heavy, 2. add a **** load of $$ to the price of the car, 3. it does'nt blow up every time I pull a 1.50 60". I don't think the IRS is gonna make the car sell any better. Ford sold 150,000 Mudstains last year with a solid rear, why can't we? I'm not even sure why I joined in this discussion, we are getting an IRS! If you don't like it, don't buy it! I'm not crazy about the IRS thing, but my heart still skips a beat every time I see that concept car, how bout you?
