Default F-Body??

Are we still calling the new Camaro a F-Body? I haven't seen this discussed though I'm sure it has been. Z-Body? I hope not..

From what i've heard, the name won't change. But then again we always went off GM's own code for the chassis, so we'll have to see what they call it when they announce it.

I know i'll still call it an F-body. It's a Camaro {shrugs shoulders}

No way is it an F-Body... the F-body is dead... we will have to see what GM says but I thought it was a Zeta platform?

Anyone who knowingly calls it an F-Body (in other words understands it refers to a platform that no longer exists and yet uses the term wrongly regardless) is a f@cking retard and should get a permaband But seriously they should

Here's a thought...the reason we called them F-Bodys (besides the GM nomenclature) so much was because it covered Camaro, Firebird, and Trans Am in an entire family. So since that won't be the case anymore. Maybe we'll just call it...wait for it...here it comes..."Camaro." I mean really how many people call there Corvettes a C-Body?

I call my car an F-body all day long. SO that's why I want to know what the deal is.

Damn!! When I wrote that I knew I ****** it up! Oh well.. My point remain if theres is only one "f" or "Z" body, will people really call it that still?

I mean I always call mine an f-body too...but just doens't seem to make sense if it's the only one. Does it.

Actually the G8 is a "VE-body" if you really want to call it that, since Holden calls it Zeta or VE (the previous generation chassis was VZ which included the GTOs).

Camaro is the first car to be on the full GMNA version of Zeta, but there is no letter designation.
And who knows, even without an "official" letter designation for the chassis, there may still end up being an F in the VIN, which technically can be considered the same thing.

Regardless of technicalities, many will still call it an F-Body.
Old habits die hard.

Hopefully GM does the right thing and just calls it an F-Body. They seem to be doing everything else pretty well.

i was going by the 4th digit of the VIN, which was "E" on the G8, it can't be a "Z", since thats the malibu/aura VIN code, so maybe they WILL make it an "F" when it comes out... we'll just hafta wait till the 1st VIN is released...

Seriously, did you just refer to the Trans Am as a different car than the Firebird? That's like saying the Z/28 isn't a Camaro!
