l99 vs ls3
all bolt-ons will be interchangeable. the L99 will just be harder to do a cam swap on unless there are AFM cams by then. Even then to get teh same performance out of an L99 with a cam swap you will have to swap lifters to non AFM type.
the L99 is supposed to be as fast as the LS3 stock anyway, so unless you plan on getting into the motor, I wouldn't think twice about getting an auto/L99. most guys that do a cam swap end up doing heads anyway, so I really don't see any detraction from the L99.

the L99 is LSX, it has the same market. only difference is the AFM cam, IF you want to keep AFM. some guys are currently developing AFM cams also.
My '99 Z is a 6-speed, and I love it. It does get a bit tiresome in stop-and-go traffic everyday though. Makes me kinda miss living in the smaller cities...

of course they will need a converter if they are are going to keep up with a DR or slick M6 car launching at 4-5000+ rpm
stock vs stock though, they should be pretty even.
