L99 has AFM, LS3 does not.
all bolt-ons will be interchangeable. the L99 will just be harder to do a cam swap on unless there are AFM cams by then. Even then to get teh same performance out of an L99 with a cam swap you will have to swap lifters to non AFM type.
the L99 is supposed to be as fast as the LS3 stock anyway, so unless you plan on getting into the motor, I wouldn't think twice about getting an auto/L99. most guys that do a cam swap end up doing heads anyway, so I really don't see any detraction from the L99.

the L99 is LSX, it has the same market. only difference is the AFM cam, IF you want to keep AFM. some guys are currently developing AFM cams also.

Real men drive whatever they damn please and don't care what other people think about it. Auto for me. I am sick of having a manual for a DD.

My '99 Z is a 6-speed, and I love it. It does get a bit tiresome in stop-and-go traffic everyday though. Makes me kinda miss living in the smaller cities...

I agree with that. Also, with the auto trans now having 6 speeds, it is kinda hard to continue ignoring the advantage of computer controlled shifting. And if it has tap-shifting, where is the real down-side anymore?

Im willing to say even with the HP difference they are neck and neck once they are out. Coming from a4.... an A6 would have many advantages..... all the stalled A4 guys can imagine being able to keep up with the 6spds with a 6spd automatic.

so can the 6spd auto keep up with a 6spd manual? or do they need to get a Torque Converter like in the 4th Gens? cause i can beat my friend in the 1/8th mile but he would take me in the 1/4. he has M6

of course they will need a converter if they are are going to keep up with a DR or slick M6 car launching at 4-5000+ rpm
stock vs stock though, they should be pretty even.
