Id say from 93-02. Speaking against the Camaro, the Stang has triumphed since 2003 & will continue their dominance through 2010. The GT500 will eat a LS3 Camaro, hence Stang > Camaro & Stang bragging rights! I apologize for taking a dump in your cereal bowl! Stop whining & just accept it. There are so many "embellishments" in this section, so dont get upset when I call them out!!! see below

The GT500 is not in the price range of a Camaro. It's in the price range of a vette where is aptly gets it's *** kicked even by the stock model.
Only a fucktard would buy a 50K Mustang and then be happy it runs 12's.
The modability of a GT500 is great, but since we're compare'n stock cars here keep um within at least the same price range.

Lets look at some REAL basic facts here...
Camaro has been out sold by Mustang for as long as i can remember. That much we can ALL agree is FACT. Mustang appeals to a much larger crowd for its price and its (i dare say) looks. Lets look at some other facts.... Bang for buck, z28 vs gt camaro is gonna walk mustang all day long. If a mustang were to put a grand into his car and the camaro guy did the same, that camaro is just gonna go faster... simple FACT. 00000 i can definatly enjoy your careless idiotic banter about which is better. But, your like a kid that comes up to me asking to race with his 4 banger lancer saying he's modded it out to have 2 more cylinders on the stock motor..... I bet your a pretty intelligent person, but i have just seen complete retardation from you on this site, and would like to formally press a ban on you so that we longer have to hear it. Bang for the buck? You might get a better performance car starting off (stock) but you still paid the extra 1000's. That concept doesnt keep cars selling or alive (2003). Its just a idea ive heard numerous times on this site when comparing a LS1 to a any year Stang GT. Society buried the camaro, not enough wanted it (not appealing). How can you guys back GM when they axed the car? That car was out for 35 years & they just axed it like it was nothing, leaving most of you in the dark. Also, the GT500 does not cost 50,000 ( yet another embellished remark ), more like $42,000.

When the 500's were coming out, there was a 15k markup. So yes, 42k is a starting price, but realistically is another 10k on top of that.

Yup. Just as I thought. I checked on Modular Fords and there was a thread. Some mentioned there are some with a markup and many are paying 46-48k. Some are now starting to come down to sticker after what 2 years now?

Hey nut! You act like both motors have the same displacement. I say GM compensated with their LS1 by using an extra 1.1 liters!!! As for compensation, it can go both ways. You GM guys need to wake up. Ya'll have been in the dark for too long. Also, ultimately Stang > Camaro! Between the 2, Ford has the bragging rights for now at least until the speculated Z28 version.

Not for pony lovers to come and beat their chest and proclaim their superiority over a car that NO ONE KNOWS HOW FAST IT WILL BE YET. Many things other than pure horsepower/weight formula weigh in on how a car performs on the drag strip including but not limited to weight distribution, rear wheel base, gearing ratios, suspension stiffness, the tune, THE DRIVER, etc. So NO ONE can tell me that because the Camaro weighs X pounds and has Y horsepower then it will go Z ET.
