I have Longtubes, ORY and Hooker Catback with Cutout. With the cutout closed I think it sounds pretty good still, real quiet at idle but it screams at WOT. Right now I'm running the car open cutout because I've been too lazy to cap it off after I got it tuned. Here's what the car sounds like with open cutout:

Put a cutout on, quiet when you want and stupid loud when you want!

Just to input. I have Pacesetters, Catted Y and Hooker Catback. Adding the long tubes is not going to greatly increase the noise level. Don't get me wrong it sounds mean as hell when you get on it but its not loud. Excellent tone and rumble but quiet.
To solve that problem get a cut out like I did. Best mod ever. The sound is great through the hooker and open cutout.

I had LT's tsp ory and the tsp rumbler, that was LOUD. I moved to tsp catted-y and LM2, deeper and i could talk in the car.
But i do miss that noise sometimes......................

I would add an electric cut out. Gonna be your best bet to get it loud, but still be liveable. I personally love the set up on my 98. Best sounding exhaust I've had on any car and its WAAY loud at WOT, and best of all, not an ounce of rasp.
Here's an idle clip:

And a couple showing how its set up.

And this one shows the muffler placement and how the tailpipes were run:

Honestly, SLP with LT's, in my personal opinion, is just flat out obnoxious. Loud yes, but obnoxious. Just wait to see what it sounds like with LT's because that does make a difference and might bring the Hook's to life.

My car has LT Pacesetters with the Pacesetter ORY and Magnaflow CB and it's the perfect volume for me. It's not stupid loud, like **** off all the neighbors loud, but I get quite a few compliments about how good it sounds at stoplights from random people. And when I go WOT, it screams like a maniac. It was quite a bit more tame and a little less raspy when I had the same setup, only with the TSP catted Y-pipe. The Pacesetter ORY also fits like a freakin glove. I would have to have be guaranteed a solid 10rwhp or more gain to even consider swapping to another ORY, and even then I'd be hesitant. I've never seen an aftermarket exhaust part fit so perfectly.
