Default How often do you lite them up

My question to everyone how often do you lite them up on the street not the track, I lit them up for the first time sunday night nothing more then 5 seconds with a lil fishtail out I just wanted to know how often everyone does it and when you do do you go all out? I dont plan to do it for a long time maybe when I need new tires I will try drifting in a closed parking lot

Um, I normally drive really easy and don't chance it, but a few times last week i got anxious and did 3 good burnouts. 2 were sitting still for a few seconds and rolling out leaving dark lines about 25 feet, and one was easing the brakes/gas at about 5 mph and just doing about a 10 mph roll smoking them for ~20 feet.

I now need new tires. =/

I dont take my chances. With cops in my township on my butt i dont need any more trouble. Nothing wrong with a little bit of tire chirping here and there though.

Enough ... It is addicting. But always on closed roads with a professional driver. Haha!

No because I have good tires with lots of life left, and I don't really want to dump the cash on new ones. I made the mistake of not cooking the old bald ones that were on it when I first got the car though. Didn't even think about it until I got the new ones on. D'oh!

Doesn't take much for me to do it on the street, in city its best to be careful due to some asshat cop that may take offense.

Isn't it better to know you can leave a full trail going WOT, then continuing it on the 1-2 shift.... damn now I want to take a shot of it again. I hate reading threads like this!

When I was younger I used to do it all the time... now unless I'm at the track, there's no brakestanding done, at all. I dont smoke the tires, ever. Thats not to say I dont go WOT and chirp them, but thats it. I drive like an old Lady. PLUS, transmissions dont like power braking

Every once in a while around the hood.

I just like seeing my tire tracks around.

Prolly once a month, out in the country. And i wonder why my tires lasted 7 months.

Or whenever im depressed. Tire smoke fixes everything.

Never. Tires are expensive and so are new rear-ends. I like to think of the T/A as I would of a gun: deadly when I need it to be. If I ever need to drop the hammer it'll be there, but there's no need to make a habit of it...

I have to agree, it depends on the tires. I like cheap tires, so I don't mind burning them for a little bit of fun every once in awhile. I could understand if you got expensive sticky rubber or if your local law enforcement was really tight though...

I used to all the time, but I'm over it. I do like to mash the pedal from time to time while I'm rolling to get a skuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrt through first and into second. But other than that it just cost too much.

What is this, a Medium Blue Metallic post-a-thon in this thread?

Its funny because when I first got my new pair of 315 BFG's I told myself I was going to take it easy and a day later I found myself doing a burnout.

Its really addicting and I find myself wanting that feeling of the car going sideways into 2nd gear more and more.

This is where my obsession started:

I was 16 when I got it, 69 Pontiac Custom S with a 455 that I put into it. The smell from the tires and the adrenaline rush was amazing to say the least lol.

But I only go WOT now when I feel its safe to do so. I let my friend drive my car the other day while I followed him in his truck just so I could see what it looks like spinning through 2nd from behind and damn I likey!!!

I do that a lot. But as far as an actual smoke show, I do a good one or two when the car is first out of storage for the year, and then maybe one or two throughout the summer.

You have to tag your own hood (I may have gotten out of control for a little bit though, haha):
