I personally think big burnouts at stop lights are for rednecks, unless you are killing off some old tires on an abondened road or some ****, burnouts show no sign of power and wastes alot of money. But chirping them in a racing situation or a WOT run is fine.

ive never done a long smoking burnout but my nittos dr's are at the end of their life, after storage in the spring ill probably mark up my road some before putting on the new ones. the fastest ive done is 130 on a straight open stretch of interstate on the way back from ohio and picking up my headers.

probably a good burnout atleast once a week, use to do them all the time when i was younger... now i have learned that tires and trans. get pretty exspensive... as for the top speed look at my avatar, i think i hit a 160 and the car just had a lid and catback at the time, and the pic was taken after i slowed down..now that my car is modded i havent topped it out...

I fishtail leaving college almost everyday. I have to turn left coming out and it usually takes about 10 minutes PER PERSON to wait for a gap in traffic. That is, normal people, that don't have 300+ horses, have to wait.

I've never gone over 90 in my car, and that was to test the splitter for 6LITEREATER.

I only really do them when my tires get worn and I am going to replace them soon. When I get new tires on, I never burnout or fishtail. I drive on them hard so they still wear out quickly, and when they wear out.....I smoke the **** out of them...im about to do it again very, very soon

I usually find good deals on tires, so its not like im spending $120 per tire anyway...

Burnouts are a right of passage between my friends and myself. Funny thing, if you look at my shop on GoogleMaps, there's at LEAST three fresh burnouts in front of it, HAHA.

As for speed, I know I've been WELL over 150MPH in my old LQ4/T56 '88 Formula. Past the end of the 140MPH speedo, no tach, 3.27s/245's, still pulling in fifth. What a ride!

I don't intentionally burn them on my Camaro much anymore, but it still happens...

I've had both my Ws6 and z28 up to about 145. I had the WS6 over 140 with the t-tops off. That was kind of loud.

My friends and i used to do a shitload of burnouts. Here is a clip of some of the **** we used to do:

We had piles of free used tires and a tire machine in the garage....

A burnout is actually not going to do anything to the 10 bolt really.. as long as the tires are slipping and not hooking. hooking hard on a launch is what kills 10 bolts.

Agreed, traction is the 10-bolt killer since it puts the diff between an unstoppable force (LSx) and an immovable object (Earth)

I never do burnouts to the point of smoking or leaving rubber, but I'll spin 'em a bit taking off and I love to get it loose in a corner... I figure that's pretty easy on it and it's pretty damn fun too. Been up to 130mph in both of my TAs and in my GTO when I had it. The TAs were pretty much worn out at that point but the GTO felt like it had a lot more in it... will always regret not topping that thing out while I had it.

I do most of my burnouts at the track. However, when I first bought the car I did the most burnouts in the cars lifetime (with me as the owner) taking different people for a ride in it.

148 was my top speed with another gear left.. it was 3:30am down 97 southbound for the maryland crew. Never again will I do that. Especially now that the car is broken.
