years back I used to with my old car. this car I really spend more time trying to get traction more than showing off. I do like to slide the rear out a tad bit on the street but for the most part no, I guess I got most of it out of my system. and I love the feel of a good hard (something has got to break )launch when possable

I think Ive only done one maybe two actual burnouts on the street. That was right after I got the car when it had the stock 245 16s on it. Now as far as spinnin the tires, all the time! Not overly but its my toy not my DD. Plus this converter makes traction on street tires in first gear a joke, but its fun!!!!!!!!

Top speed, probably 130ish, on a two lane road with traffic coming toward me in the other lane. Just a quick burst of speed and slowed her back down.

I dont light them up much. I was at a car show and I did a little burnout, like 30 seconds or so. There was trucks there with $400(a piece) tires doing at least a minute long burnout multiple times.

I usually short shift to 2nd then wait punch it. Taking off and hooking is so much funner than burning out imo.

Highest speed? Hmmm my guess would be around 160mph, I was in 5th(with 4.11 gears) at about 5700 rpm(wasnt looking that close since I was more worried about paying attention to the road) or so when I let off. Other than that I have put her up to 140 on a few occasions since then. It takes less than a mile for me to get going that fast so I do that more often.

+1 I do love to make them chirp from time to time. But I normally dont run my car that hard on the street. I try to avoid any attention from the cops.

I hit 140 with the windows open, my rear seat passenger was not amused.

Highest speed would be whatever a LT1 does in 5th at the limiter. Speedometer reads 150+ but we all know those can be off.

Um not so much anymore. Last time I lit them up I found myself talking to a cop. No ticket but damn that was unnerving. I haven't had a moving violation since 03 and I'd like to keep it that way for as long as I can. Oh yeah and neither Sumitomo or Riken tires will smoke/leave rubber either.

I lite 'em up whenever I feel like it

I've been 160 in my old '91 thirdgen, it had a pretty worked over LT1 in it at the time. I had two of my friends in the car and we had the passenger window down. The guy in the pass seat decided he'd put his arm out the window and it imediatley got whipped back and slapped the side of my car. Aparently, 160 MPH winds pretty strong

I may spin the tires a little bit every now and then, but usually not hard enough to leave marks. But whenever it's time for new tires I burn the old ones off with a big smokey burnout.

Fastest speed is 145 in my SS (150 in a C6), once. Been to 120-130 maybe a dozen times. Only for short runs with no traffic.

I tend to do burnouts on a semi-constant basis. I love chirping the tires shifting. With the cheap-o's I've got on it now, it's pretty easy to spin 'em off. MT's are going on later this week, and that'll stop quickly. Like streetassasin said - $165 a pop ($172 in my case) gets expensive real quick.

Fastest I've gone in the Nova (that I can verify) was at the track - 105 trap speed. My speedo hasn't exactly worked well since I put the 3.90s in, so I used to have it wrapped doing 60 down the freeway (disconnected the speedo cable for now with the new gauge setup). In the Z I've done 125 and she was still pulling though.

I have 315 sumo's on 11 wide TT2 rims and I have to disagree too, smoke'm if you got um, they leave both smoke and rubber!
How often, since my car is a toy, once a month, fastest speed, nothing over the speed limit officer

hahaha did the same thing you did as soon as iseen the tires i was like nice then instantly damn

ive prolly on smoked em once or twice tho i dont see the point considering i dont go to the track i just wanna go fast so chirping between gears is pretty much the most burnin out i do

+1 its like your marking your territory and its always cool to drive by like a year later and still see the tracks.
