Question Is this supposed to have a hole in it? (PIC)



I was installing my wideband and heard this air sucking noise and noticed this hole... the car runs fine, is it normal? I remember my LT1 had a similar hole...

Looks melted.

That is where the PCV hooks up.

nope, get a hose to replace it, and change the pcv valve while you're at it

It's 3/8 hose (fuel line type)
You can replace that with hose for about 50 cents, or get the OEM part for I'd guess $5 to $10

That's a common problem on LS1's. Fix it immediately. The inside of your engine probably looks horrible from all the dirt thats been sucked in there. I just pulled a 65K mile LS1 apart with exactly the same hole. The owner is a personal friend of mine and is religious about oil changes. The cylinder heads and crankcase were NASTY...

Replace that with a piece of 3/8 fuel line. It will last longer and cost almost nothing.
