Default witch should i use on stock lq4, 317 or 706

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i wanting to know what would be best for my 2002 lq4 6.0 have installed a hot cam. im wanting to know should i use the 317 heads and get them milled down to .035 to.040 to raise my cr. or us a set of 5.3 heads casting 706. im wanting to raise the cr. and still raise power too. i know the 317 flow better. but the 706 heads would raise the cr to around 11.1 and they flow i read the same as the ls1 head but has a smaller intake valve 1.89, i realy need some help. i want all i can get with what i have. i can port the 706 heads or the 317's myself. just what would you use. my goal is save money and raise the cr for more power. this is going in a 94 camaro engine is all stock also will be using a ls1 intake until able to buy after market one. and i know about the l92 heads and the ls6 heads. advise needed. not very wise in the head department please help,

This question would be a better fit in the "Generation III Internal Engine" forum.

If raising CR is your goal, but still want great flow.....I would go with some PRC 5.3 Stage 2.5 heads from Texas Speed. You'll find a link to Texas Speed and Performance in the sponsor ads to the right of the page>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
