highest hp on a 346 ls1 an 6.2 ls3 or equivalent?
so im have this discussion on N/A horse power numbers for mustang 4 valve numbers an lsx based motors. what i need to know is what is some of the highest hp reached by an lsx motor wether it be an ls1 or an ls3 or something else gm invented no larger than a 6.2L? these need to be N/a numbers an on stock ported heads. heres a link to the argument on my local forum...

ive tried to search but dont really know how to word the search. i figured ls3 were doin about that. i was just curious because if a dam 5.4 4valve can make more than 600rwhp than i know an ls1 can do it.

No its not the LS9 is a 6.2L motor this motor is not offered without the blower. They are putting a slightly different version in the CTS-V. The ZO6 is a LS7 7.0L rated at 505hp Two totally different motors...http://www.leftlanenews.com/chevrolet-corvette-zr1.html

Search the dyno forum for numbers. I've seen some numbers from LS3s. They keep talking about the ultra rare cobra R. I mean these aren't that common right. So how hard is it going to be to find that motor to match the LS3. And is probably pretty hard to find parts for it and it's expensive.
I'm not gonna get into an argument about it on there

Those guys are ********. Don't forget to tell them to look at horsepower numbers between mustang + camaro side by side since the beginning of each car. Camaro was only built to beat the mustang, not completely blow it away. LSx engines aren't tuned to be race cars from the factory, just look at the mpg stickers and ask why the tiny 4.6 gets the same mpg as a 5.7. Mustang has just lately been trying to squeeze out the competition of the 3-6 year older LS1 engines. The one kid on that forum wants to talk about technology? Then why have ford cars been behind GM since the 60's?

they are all full of **** and pulling numbers out there ***. a bolton cobra R isnt going to make 450RWHP....WTF. those motors they are talking about are factory race motors pretty much. if chevy wanted to build a race motor from the factory you could bet it would beat the pants off a NA ford. and the dude with a 600RWHP 5.4 car is a pro race motor builder.....im sure his setup is nice and streetable.

well he says hes seen that 600rwhp 5.4 in person, never saw it drive but says AL papito claims it to be streetable. an as for the cobra r motor i thought they were race motors, i didnt think there was much more you could do to them..

with after market heads there are a few 5.7L ls1s breaking into 500rwhp
but like i said...aftermarket heads...but still...its a 5.7L
its funny they are all comparing HIGH END built motors to h/c lsx engines.
ask for dyno sheets.
ask for links and prices for specific packages that allow the average guy to do the upgrades in his garage.
500rwhp with a cam swap and bolt ons, daily driveable and still 25+mpg economy...
typical mustang bitches on that thread.
remember
don't argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I don't want to join that forum, but tell them to stop talking about other people's ****. If their own car doesn't do it, shut the **** up.

My uncle runs a GM dealership and has a CTS-V coming in the next two weeks. He is gonna make a few passes at the track so I will post up results. I don't think he"ll beat me though cause my stall will hit harder off the line

Ive got one of those gen 3 ls books bout the differences history on the engines and what not. In the book they did all sorts of small mods bolt ons to a 02 ls6 that put out 498hp crank of course, but basicly stock!
