i put a 00 ls1 in my 95 formula. when i put the ls1 in i didnt change the tranny. it runs and drives fine but theres no power. i found out that the tranny im using is why the car has no power. i need the newer tranny for the ls1. so i was thinking about installing the lt1 and selling the ls1. im not sure what to do now. the car is just sitting. need help. should i keep the ls1 and get the newer tranny or just go back to the lt1?
thanks
mike

If you have already gone through the trouble of getting the LS1 work in your car, then why not go all the way and change the tranny, too, if that's all that's needed?
I'd do it. Or, actually, I would go and put a T56 in there. But that's just me.

Mike-
Go back to the LT1!!! The LS1's are garbage. I think scrap aluminum is about $.25/lb. The LS1 weighs in at a little over 400lbs. A hundred bucks sound like a deal? Just let me know!!!

When you remove the Pan, there is a Wiring Harness that controls the Solenoids in the Valve Body and throughout the Transmission.
The easier route would be to get a LS Tranny.. I was in your same position when I did my swap, wondering if I should go with the LT Tranny with the LS Engine, but I got ahold of a LS Tranny for $50 and had it built.

Well mine had come out of a wrecked Truck, it's actually a 4L65E, and currently it's got a bunch of really nice internals and every Clutch and Band is burnt. The 402 is not gentle..lol
I'm having it re-built and that will be the backup for the one in my GMC Sierra. The current one has 110k on it..if I was home I'd sell it out of the Truck..

I've had both and all I can say is LS1.
