A $5,000 profit is definitely tempting... especially if you are daily driving such a rare car. In my mind, unless you are totally in love with your Formula, I would pocket the profit and buy something around $9,000 that you won't feel so bad to mod and actually drive hard with (if those are your goals). To me, rare cars should be babied and kept basically stock! Good luck!

If you decide to keep it, see if you could find a stock catback on the site that is in good condition and install it when you decide to sell it. That way it will be all original. However, I would try to keep the miles off it and keep it garaged. That is why I would not buy a rare sports car. I enjoy driving, modding and taking my Formula to the track to whip that ***.
If you decide to sell it, you can get a regular 98 T/A or Formula for around 6-7k. You can use the extra 7k to add a nice heads, cam and nitrous kit. Good luck!!!

Basically I bought the car and my friend that brought it home for me wants it really bad. And i know that he could give her a way better home than i can and keep the miles off her. Oh and he offered me a little over 5 grand more than what I payed for her. What do you think should I sell her or what.

if hes honestly asking bout selling a car and making a 5k profit either hes bsing or hes got enuff money where it doesn't matter. the last alternative is its his dream car wanted one exactly like it his entire life but that doesnt seam to be the case. from what I have read the rarity is what he likes but hell its a 4th gen its not a st gen or early 2nd so rarity shouldn't play a part. if color is a concern paint it an odd ball color. or contact slp bout making a firehawk with certificate and all. isn't carl black still modding fbodys and giving them certification as a black bird?

I think a lot of people in here are missing the point about it being a WS6 FORMULA not a WS6 T/A. There aren't that many WS6 Formulas out there much less clean unmolested ones. Of course it's not a massive collectible at the moment, but neither were the first or second gens (or most others) when they were 10yrs old. Wanna take a guess at how much LS5 and LS6 Chevelles were worth in the late 70's and early 80's? This car should appreciate quite a bit over the next 20-30yrs; which is how long you should be looking at holding a late-model "future collectible" to maximize your return (if you are truly looking at it as an investment).

A quick search on Auto Trader and eBay turned up 2 WS6 Formulas for sale right now. Both have around 55k miles and both are listed at $14.5k, so (as I said before) while $15k is a very fair offer, I don't think it is an absolute "must sell" offer.
