thanks man. the depressing part isnt really what happened to my car, its that it couldve of been way worse and the fact that i went through something as scary as that and also because others were involved. not just my lady in the front seat of my car. but the other people in the other cars as well. i was a total wreck last night. i was in total shock when i got home i didnt wanna do anything but lay and try to make sense of everything. it hurt and it sucked. but ya. things are getting better. ty

If your car is in good condition, the insurance company might pay you ~8K. Depending on many variables, though, so all we can do here is just guesstimate. You need to wait until they assess the damage and decide what to do with it then work out your future plans.

All in all, if you buy it back and then either part it out or sell it as whole, I'd estimate you'll have about 10-12K.

10-12k extra plus the 8k? or 8k plus 2-4k if i part it out? how much would it cost to buy it back if i had to? and what sorts of variables? and yes my car was in excellent condition.

Variables depend on the insurance company. They are all different.

If they'll give you 8-9K and buyback is maybe 2K, you'll net 6-7K. Get maybe 3-4K for selling/parting it, maybe even more. Then you are at about 9-11K. Minus your deducctible, of course.

All just pure speculation, of course. Maybe there is somebody here who has done something similar lately and will pitch in.

OP, I agree with what others are saying (but not this guy^.. **** happens) if they total it then buy it back. I think it would be worth it, the damage didnt look too bad.

Usually has to be 75% of the cars worth, which is pretty much damage.

Go to LKQ.. $70 for hood, $60 for bumper, you could probably sneak the headlights out or leave them on the bumper and they wouldn't care.. Yours actually don't look to have any damage by the pics.. I don't know what a windsheild would cost, never bought one..

as far as your deductible goes they will tell you if you don't know it. but if you have any of the papers you got from them for your renewals or anything it will tell you how much it was. usually collision is pretty commonly either 500 or 1000. but it could be whatever you chose when you got your insurance. like everyone else said thought that doesn't look that bad. and you can get airbags for 500-1000 i think the last set i bought for my camaro i fixed was like 450 and it was both sides with the whole dash and the brain box for it. best of luck to you.

you obviously have no clue how much some of these parts cost. bumper for 60 bucks, no...maybe for that old 80s camaro you bought one for one time but these cost a pretty penny. I searched for 7 months for mine and felt like i got a deal of a lifetime for $450 for a new unused gm replacement bumper. And the headlight assemblies are easily 250-350 each at a junkyard. The sleek beak hood you could probably find for that price tho since nobody wants them. Either way, O.P. you should be able to fix it up no problem. Your probably gonna need a radiator and radiator support as well tho.
