Not bad at all, does that include the car?

Hmmm interesting thread.

My p.o.s
Car with 62,000 miles $2500
Ebay fender $40
Paint for fender and bumper $175
SLP lid, P&P tb, Jet hot coated mac mids/SLP ORY, SLP Loudmouth, 3:73 richmond gears, UMI suspension parts/lower control arms/PHR/subframe connectors, Wolfe roll bar, 17x9/17x11 ZR1's, suede seat inserts, aeroforce interceptor gauge, SS hood (not put on) and topped off with an A.I.R tune.
Instead of listing every price I have about $2400-$2500 in **** so you figure im in $5000 so far and im now at 92,000 miles and shes still going strong except for a chipped pinion gear the other day but I just bought another rear for $50 so now im at $5550 lol.

You guys have done alot to your cars for the money you spent though.

....and I thought I got a deal!

I've had mine almost a year since I picked it up for $6,250 with 70,000 on the clock. She came with a lid and I hacked the muffler off as soon as I got home. My first time taking her to the track left me with a 13.4 @ 104 and a 2.0 60ft.

Since then I've added:

Pacesetters, ORY, Sweet Thunder: Around $600 brand new
Sold cats for $140
Double Diamond Subframes: $207
Ported Throttle Body: $100 (Completely impulsive waste of money)
17x9.5 & 18x10 Z06ers with tires: $450

Mods: $1,216ish

Total: $7,467

Not bad, but I thought I was doing much better. I've got two things coming in the next two weeks. To date, my best time is a 12.9 @ 106 with a 1.9 60.

Eibach Sportlines: $100
3.73'd rear end: $250

I'll be at around $1,573 in goodies and $7,815 total.

Not bad for a full exhaust, wheels, tires, springs, gears and those other odds and ends. I might put my speaker box and stock wheels up for sale to subsidize a bit of this.

When did you buy the car though? Thats got a lot to do with the purchase price of the car itself. I bought my car over 5 years ago for $13,500 with 17k miles which wasn't bad at the time. The same car is probably worth $7k these days. So of course my $ amount spent is going to be a lot higher because of how long ago I bought the car, compared to someone who bought their car last year for dirt cheap.

Car - 3500$
Cammed LS6 - 1800$
Pushrods - $100
Headers and exhaust - 600$
Baseline tune - $100
Injectors - $300
Fuel pump - $150

Dunno performance wise, but I think its good bang for the buck.

I paid $7k for my car. It already had some work done to it, including a full exhaust and a stall. I did a bunch of free/cheap mods, a little weight reduction, and put a set of summit stars with used slicks and skinnies on it for a total of probably $750 including an oil change with royal purple. It went 12.1 on the motor and I'm confident it will go 11.9 in the spring. I need to replace the posi-unit though.

That's not bad..

It sucks to buy a car, and have the track closed. I don't really want to mod it before getting a baseline.

To be honest the car is fast enough as it sits, but for some reason, I'll still throw money at it to make it faster.

I've upgraded a few things but at one time I had Pacesetter headers, ORY, SLP Lid, and Loudmouth catback with $6500 invested on the nose including car. Not many mods I know but when I got it the car it was completely stock - the catback.
