LT1 vs. LS1...looking for general information
Is there a post somewhere that does a direct comparison of the LT1 vs. the LS1.
I did a search and came up short, must not of been typing in the right key words.
I know the LS1 is obviously an aluminum block. The intakes are different, heads are different. The bore and stroke are different. Pretty sure the TB's are different. Overall, I know the LS1 is way more efficient too.
What else, could someone do a direct comparison for me or show me a link.

well...lol....can't stop laughing. this is great....here's the story:
Me: hey hows it going
Him: oh not bad
Me: get any water in your camaro
Him: confused look....um no why
Me: oh i seen you had t-tops on your lt1 and it was raining all day yesterday
Him: no i've never had them leak
Me: weird...(short pause)....i guess you don't have enough power to twist the chassis...(said this in an entirely joking way in front of a few guys)
Him: oh another one of your LS1 JOKES!!! you know what, they are entirely the same motor with just different intakes!!!
Me: oh really...?
I just had to walk away from that one....

To put it simply, the biggest difference is the lack of SUCK when it comes to an LS1. They share absolutely nothing except for having been engineered by the same company.
Edit: Not to say that there are not some very fast LT1 cars out there, but the design of the engine is inferior in every way imaginable. LS>LT.

Yes, the LS1 is superior in many design aspects. IT HAD BETTER BE. It was designed from a clean sheet of paper well after the LT1. If the next generation of motors was not better than the previous one, GM would/should need to fire all engineers involved. Just common sense.

But I get your point. On here, yeah, it's uh... LS1tech. At the track LS1 powered cars are like bellybuttons... everyone has one. I like being one of the few, the proud, the stubborn, the masochistic, deranged fanatics that have clean and quick LT1 cars. Yes, I have been tempted to get a GEN III powered track car. You know, go the easy route. But, I have a lot of time, sweat, cash, and even blood tied up in my muthafuggin LT1 boat so I think I'll keep the damn thing and keep on surprising people when I beat some LS1 cars who line up next to me during test and tune night.
