ls1 top speed with 4.10 gears
Im planning to install 4.10 gears on my car in a month or so and was just wondering what will the approximate top speed be with 4.10 gears on my manual ls1 t/a
i really need to install those gears to wake the car up.... i know i should feel some significant difference...
i remember topping the car out at about 163 for a brief moment in 5th but not sure if it was the top speed lol.
my car has pretty much the full exhaust with lt headers, but i dont think it actually affects my cars top speed
so can someone tell me what the top speed with 4.10's is?? and i also wonder if the sixth gear will be any helpful with those gears... i know its not with 3.42's
oh and to all those people who will tell me to use search, i did, and apparently its all messed up and brings up nothing but random posts... what the hell happened to it anyway??

More. I run 4.30's and can't peg it out in 6th. There is a gear calculator on here. You'll need a pretty good stretch to top it out in 5th and to grab 6th and keep going

I had a 9" and 4.30's before the cam. You will never top it out in 6th gear with the 3.42's, its too tall and wind resistance will get you. You probably wont top it out with the 4.10's either. I haven't in 6th gear with mine. I have topped 5th plenty, but never 6th

it'll go about the same as now, you'll run out of power way before you run out of 6th gear(6th gear would be around 230mph@6100). 5th gear should hit 155 @6100rpm and 6th gear is at around 4100 at the same speed.

with 6000rpm redline and stock gearing, you could redline 5th at around 180mph and 6th at about 265mph (ignoring factors like horsepower and critical speed of all other moving parts). you would be at 165mph around 5500rpm.
with 4.10 you could redline 5th at 151mph, 6th at 223mph and you would need to shift into 6th to get to 165mph at 4400rpm.

well I can't tell you your top speed, but it lowered mine from 118 to 95 Im getting my car tuned this weekend to get rid of that pesky speed limiter tho, I have z rated tires now so it shouldnt be on there anyhow. Oh and yes, 6th gear will be usefull now, I can use 6th at 40 mph now, so my city mpg has actually increased.
