? You should be able to use it fine, it will just be a little harder to push down. My stock hood I guess is around 50-60lbs, this new fiberglass hood is about 15lbs. so.. it should be fine? What issues are you having with it shutting?

another option is to just use one of the stock shocks, one of my old camaros had an aftermarket hood and it just had one shock when i bought it, held the hood up fine and didnt have any problems with it

mm maybe something is wrong with them then. With mine you just have to push down on the tip of the front and it goes down fine, but you need to use pressure. You cant just let it drop like on the stock hood, not enough weight to do that.

i may have to put a new set of shocks on,even with the stock steel hood,i had to push on it hard to get it to move, but once it broke loose it worked fine.i tried them off the car and it took alot of pressure to break them loose to work .think they are bad ?thanks for your help.appreciate it!

Get new hood struts before you ruin the new hood. VFN now sells the proper struts or you can check with some other strut vendors. Your going to need 35lbs struts.

i have the same problem i bought a fiberglass ss hood and if i use the stock shocks it will break my hood. The hoods bends like crazy when u go to shut it and when u open it, it throws the hood up so fast it cracked my hood
