Default Fuel Milage

I know the car is supposedly capable of getting 28mpg highway, so my question is what speed/rpm gives the optimal mileage for highway driving? Car is almost completely stock engine wise except for a lid.
At about ~70mph the superbly accurate tach reads ~1800rpm, is this where is should be?

Sounds about right. I cruise at about 80 with rpms just under 2k.

sounds right, maybe a little on the high side, but not too far. Mines much higher, but I have 4.10s lol. I can still pull off 24 hwy with a few spirited runs. Your optimal speed for gas would probably be about 65 or so. just a guess haha.

Obviously the lower the RPMs the better the gas mileage...

Thats not 100% true. the most *efficient* rpm vs speed may not be the lowest RPM because you have to have enough rpm to maintain speed. example: if your going 60ish in 6th and your rpms are around 1500 and every time you hit a hill you have to give it more throttle, vs if your doing 70 and your rpms are 1800 and its enough to sustain speed without giving more throttle, then 1800 is more efficient than 1500.

But 0000RPMs is better then both 1500 and 1800 RPMs. Its so good you can't even tell if its using gas.

I will be going ~150miles tomorrow. I might just have to fill up before I leave and right before I get there just to find out. Driving here the other night just judging by how for the needle fell it seems like it would be rather high amount of fuel burned. That method probably isn't very accurate though...

Lowest injector pulse width versus highest speed, it varies with temp and humidity and tuning.
Commonly this is above 1300 rpm and below 1500rpm.
