mine was stuck like this as well. Try hammering a flat head screwdriver in between the block and the tranny and drive it towards the pin. And have someone use a pry bar at the same time. Be careful not to damage the aluminum. It will eventually break free.
When you get it off, clean up the pins and put silver anti-seize all over them before you put the tranny back on.

I have run into this on cars of mine (the first time I pull the tranny) and helping friends pull theirs. Had happened with both A4 and M6.
1. Prybar time! or...
2. Chisle and hammer. There are pry points in the tranny housing. Look carefully and you will see. Tap the cold chisle in carefully and the move it back and forth. After you get a little gap going, you can then wedge a large screwdriver as someone else suggested.
3. When it's off, clean the dowel pins and apply a light coating of high temp axle grease. Next time you pull the trans you won't have this problem.

This is pretty common to see this when puling a trans that has been in there for a while. All advise in this thread is good advise. Try to lower or even raise the trans to see if it helps at all while prying. Make sure not to drop the thing on yourself. I have seen some close calls in my time so be careful! When you do get it out make sure to clean the dowel pins and the holes. Might be a good idea to use a little bit of anti seize on the pins and holes before reinstalling. If you do use a screw driver to get between the block and the bell make sure to file down any burs that you make before reinstalling everything. The surfaces need to be flat. Good luck and don't let it get the best of you. Vince
