I don't drive my SS daily. I don't need to, I have a 98 Tahoe as my daily. I know the car is not going to be worth **** in the long run, but I would rather put thousands of $$$ into performance than routine fix ups, repainting the front end, fixing dings, or whatever. I like knowing I can do a smokey burnout or race hard and not care about the tires or breaking something becuase I have as long as I want to fix it or save money to fix it.

My 98 z-28 is the only car I own and I can not see DD anything else other than maybe a vette. The idea of DD a lessor car reminds me of Hugh Grant, he had one of the hottest women in the world at home and went out and had sex with a skanky crack *****. That doesn't make anymore sense to me than DD a honda when you have a LS1 in the garage.

I wouldnt consider mine a DD, I have a nicely modded GTP. I do drive it a lot in the summer. If its raining, I drive the GTP(bald DRs on the SS) I tend to switch cars every other day.

I hear ya man. I just got done washin & waxin mine & on the way home this guy in front of me pulls off to the shoulder & stirs up a bunch of dust. When its clean, theres not a prettier ride, but it just doesnt seem to last very long. Mine stays clean for about 2-3 days then it needs a wash again.

I DD mine when the weather is nice. I DD my Jeep in the winter, in fact I only put about 600 miles on the 'Bird from Oct to March. I've been driving it alot more since April though. I have a 60 mile round trip to work, so I like to try and use the Jeep once in a while to try and keep some miles off the 'Bird. I want to keep it down to less than 1k miles a month. I know it really doesn't matter, but it's a psychological thing. I have 85.5k, I'm in no hurry to see 100k.
I think it makes a good DD. it's comfy IMO, and the AC works great (AC is broke in the Jeep), and it gets much better mileage than the Jeep. I can squeeze about 17mpg out of the Jeep if I'm lucky, the Bird consistantly gets 23.5 if I don't beat on it too much.
And theres nothing better than getting out of work after a shitty day and taking off the tops for the ride home. Cheers me up every time.
Oh, and yeah, mine (NBM) always looks dirty too. Almost without fail, it will rain 1-2 days after I wash it, or we'll have a heavy pollen day. Then it will be a few weeks before I get a chance to wash it again, so I have to drive around in a filthy car.

Mine is a DD. It is fun and fairly good on gas. I have a 40 mile round trip commute. It is mostly freeway. I would not mind having a more radical car also for special times. I actually use my truck to haul stuff for the most part. Dirt Bike etc.

Check The Sig.
My T/A did That Commute For A Month and A Half, and Even Made The Entire Trip @ WOT on a Few Occasions.
It Hurt My Heart To See It Rack Up 8k miles in 2 months, But Other Then That, No Problems. I'm On The Edge of My Seat Whenever I Drive The Bonney because I Don't Know If It's Gonna Take A Crap in The Middle of I-80.....100 freakin' Miles From Civilization.

I DD my car for the first year of owning it. it was almost stock except LTs and catback. After my stall i quit driving it. Now with cam and gears the gas mileage has gone down considerably so i drive a 02 Accent daily and try to get the camaro out of the garage once a week. sometimes i make up places to go just to take it out.

I bought my 98 Formula 2 years ago with 32,000 miles in mint condition. I DD it from about Mar.15-Nov. 15. (Wisconsin winters SUCK!!!) It's got 45,000 miles now and it's gained a few stone chips but I bought it to DRIVE. Unless these F-bodies have ultra low miles they are just another used car. I'm fussy about maintenance so a little paint work will put it back to mint when/if I decide to. In 20 years no one will care if it has 40,000 miles or 240,000 miles. The condition is all that will count.

I DD mine. It's a 10 year old F-body not a Ferrari. It was made to be a daily driver, and that's how I use it. What's the point in spending money modifying a car you never drive? I bought it because I love driving Trans Ams. The same goes for my Harley. I bought it because I want to ride it - not so I can stare at it in the garage.
