I can't spin my tires from a stop. My car is a a 4 with 2.73 gears. That could be why. I have some junk all season tires. Stock size. Mods are in sig. Could you guys spin your tires with 2.73 gears? My car just grabs and goes. I plan on getting 3.73's very soon. I'm sure those will help the car out some! I hope.

I'm such a newb. I checked the tire psi. They were down to 22. Never aired the tires up after the winter. lol The floor mat was also under the gas pedal. There are now 2 big black marks in my drive way!! That'll make the wife happy when she gets home.

My old-lady car can spin em pretty easily. That's a 2000 Altima with the KA24DE in it. Don't really have an answer for you except for: Look for a hill! lol

lol you should be very happy that tires dont spin when you floor it. dont have to worry about anything when racing.... i believe gears are the reason for not spinning...
I used to have an 00 A4 firebird v6 stock, damn i remember i put it in drive and just floored it, and it squealed lol for good 30 feet i think. After that i got out, and looked at that one wheel peel... ah good times in HS...
my 06 155hp taurus squeaks tires when floored from a stop, but my dd matrix with 126 hp, does not... haha

You should be able to spin the tires at will from a stop on any 4th gen V8 (LT1 or LS1), no matter the gearing and stockish tires and ASR off (if applicable).
Period.

Porblem solved but wait, was this even a problem? Plenty of people on this forum would love to have too much traction. My car dead hooks on the street from a 20 roll in first and I love it. I kind of don't want to get a cam because i'll lose that ability unless I get a massive tire upgrade.
Dead hooking=good unless you're scared for your 10 bolt.
