There are much better cars to buy than this out there... in the Cars for Sale section here for example.
Even if a car you like is not 'local' you'll likely have a better chance of getting a good deal here and there are good people here who are happy to go look at a car for you on your behalf. Sometimes it is well worth a trip somewhere to pick up a car or even the transporter fee to get something you will enjoy.

theres good deal out there. I paid 4k for mine and the car is pretty much mint and it has 175k on it. I think i got an excellent deal.
That car looks like something bad happened to it.

Passed on this one, then yesterday drove 5 hours each way to check out a 98 GTP Grand prix. After checking it out I've come to the conclusion to stay away from grand prixs haha. Interior was loose and wearing very bad for a car that was pretty well cared for and it only had 66k miles on it. Are camaro/firebird interiors this bad? The door panels were both pretty loose and moved alot when closeing the door, the dash had little hair line cracks all over it, and the drivers seat seems were coming apart and had a badly worn spot in an otherwise clean seat. Outside the car was in great shape clean everywhere and seemed to run/drive pretty decently, handled better then I thought it would. But, they forgot to tell me that the brakes were SHOT on it prior to me driving all the way and refused to move on the price. Got to the stop sign leaving there street and had the pedal almost all the way to the floor to get it to stop. Also, when I got into the car it was already in perfomance mode and the avg mpg was right at 18mpg, which made me think its been beat on. It sucks now that I finally have money to buy a car theres hardly anything for sale within 300miles.

There's never anything around when you are finally ready to buy. Be patient, keep your eye out and don't settle for the wrong car. I know it can be hard but you'll be happy in the end.

Camaro and Firebird interiors aren't the best in the world, but they're going to be better than what you saw in that GTP. Overall relatively cheap materials in the interior is pretty normal, but you shouldn't be dealing with anything like what you saw with that GTP, it sounds like that car was beat pretty hard.

i would also stay away from that. the body lines dont look right to me either. looks like a cheap paint job also. not all salvage cars are bad but i wouldnt give this one the time of day.

I would do it even though its a rebuilt its not bad at all. take it to a body/mechanic shop and just cross your t's and dot your i's wit the inspection just to make sure but you'll enjoy the ls1 esp m6.
