Default 175,000 maintaince time!

The car passed the CA Smog test the other day and it passed with complete flying colors..and they say CA smog tests are hard to pass! .. Pretty awesome knowing the car is 100 miles away from 175,000. Engine still runs in top shape.. Starts instantly everytime. Oil pressure is excellent. Its at 35-40ish psi at idle. I tried to sea foam the car yesterday and it puffed out a tiny tiny bit of smoke and that was it. The car doesnt leak one bit of oil or any fluid

Im taking the car to the shop for a complete service. Would should i do for the 175,000 service tune up? I need to keep this car running as good as it looks on the outside.

Also.. I know its too late to run full synthetic oil but what about the blend synthetic?

plus change your power stearing fluid , your dex cool radiator fluid, your brake fluid( if u see its green its been contaminated with some other fluidand id its black its changing time asap ) dont forget to use some lucas oil additive in your oil change it is 99% pure petrolum its thick and if you add half of a quart to your oil it quiets down noisy lifters plus u only have to buy 5 quarts in stead of just using a half of the 6th quart) and when u put the other half of a quart in your stock diff. it will quiet it down also fyi . i have used it in every car i have ever driven and i have gone well past what normal engines will do.

The reason synthetic sometimes will make leaks show up is because it's cleaning all the crap built up in the motor conventional leaves behind. Seriously, Throw synthetic in that thing and if a leak shows then fix it.

Off the top of my head I can think of a few maintenance items.. Change Diff oil, Power steering, Coolant, Trans fluid, Plugs, and wires.

About the lucas additive that stuff is terrible. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm

So synthetic blend wouldnt work either? the car doesnt leak a drop of anything but i dont wanna risk putting full synthetic in and have it **** oil everywhere

if conventional is working for you, then it makes no sense to change to synthetic and risk having problems. I've read the leak problem many times too and I wouldn't want to deal with that. Otherwise no need for lucas if you're using good oil and the only thing I recommend you do for maintenance is slap on heads and a cam(as well as swapping fluids)

Seriously, like I said don't be afraid of switching to synthetic. I have been running full synthetic since I purchased mine at 102K and no leaks. Actually uses less oil running penzoil platinum 5w-30

ha dude if its had conventional oil in its whole life 99% its going to leak as conventional is a thicker oil and ugiys who have cams and heads and new springs this guy has a stock z and with some additives like lucas or slick 50 it would condition the weathered parts and stop that lifter tap that u get after 120 k . after i put synthetic in my engine that had 32k on it it started leaking but hey if u break it u get a reason to upgrade to an ls2 stroker

although the additive would foam up that way in a rear end since theres gear to gear meshing, there shouldn't be as much foaming in the motor, but it should still be a concern

I can barely understand you're post... Conventional thicker than synthetic? I have no clue what the previous owner ran in mine. But I purchased it at 102K and it has 146K on it currently... No leaks running synthetic since I bought it. I'm a bit confused on the whole anti-synthetic's approach. I'd rather fix a couple oil leaks from synthetic cleaning sludge off the seals than leave the sludge in the motor That's just my opinion though

Scroll up and follow the link about lucas. Stuff is junk and you couldn't pay me to run it in any of my cars. I'm just not a believer in oil additives period. BTW Only noise my car makes is piston slap on cold winter starts.
