Default 408ci problem or not need help please

hey all im new to this site just wanted to know if anyone knows if my new engine is stuffed now it is only done 60miles and if you go to near full throttle it blows smoke but on idle and normal driving it has no smoke and there is a lil oil in the intake and i have a oil catch can with a filter that dose not connect to the manifold dose any one have any ideal or dose the motor just need time to bed in ???

Sounds like your PCV system isn't functioning properly. I'm not too familiar with the pcv system on these cars but I'm sure somone else will chime in.

Just a question, but why are you beating the **** out of a motor with no break in miles?

im not thrashing it just pushed it near full throttle for bout 5sec

pulled the motor out found 3rd piston with the 2nd ring upside down found a light scratch on the boar only just feel it so probably need re-honing
its my first engine i have built but **** happens i guess

What's your combination of parts..as in what do you have for a block and the internals?

Me personally I don't take a new Engine over 3k RPM's for the first 500 miles..

the motor is a 408ci ls2 castiron block

callies dragonslayer crank
howards conrods rater to 1000hp
mahl pistions
dart por1 heads 225
comp cam 238/240/112 with 1.8rollers on top
manley racing valves and pushrods and double valve springs
rolmaster double cam chan
and a button cluch from NPC
Fast intake 92mm TB
42lb ingectors and MSD coils
