Default 6.0 or 5.3

Stopped by a local late model salvage yard today. they have 04-06 6.0 engines with around 50-60K for $1700 complete with computer and harness or same year 5.3 with computer and harness for $1500. these are pickup truck engines. whats the difference other than cubic inches and which is better suited for power and transplanting in a 67 GM A body?

Well its like any other thing the 6.0 has more tq. and hp. over the 5.3. Both will work in the car with the right modifications and mounts since the blocks are set up the same. If i were you I would ****** up a 6.0.

No replacement for displacement.

The larger cubes will always outproduce the smaller cubed version.

6.0 = LFA, LY6, LQ4, L76, LQ9
5.3L = L33, LM7, LM4, L59, LH6, LY5, LMG, LC9, LH8

Some junk yards go by displacement and year model without using RPO codes.
