price is 8,000 and it has around 75k miles full boltons,im planning on a h/c/I car with atleast 460rwhp through the ten bolt,I guess I should replace the rod bolts, and I will look into the valve cover thing.

I already have a ported fast.h/c will be either
tsp 5.3/ms3
tfs as cast 215cc/vindicator

those heads are centerbolt, youll have to get new valve covers and the stock coils wont mount, junkyard for some truck coils. they make more power anyway. BTW thats a good deal man, i paid 6k bone stock 130,000 miles for mine.

My stock coils mounted to a 99-up bracket And leave the last allen bolt out on the coil bracket (under cowl) as it is a PIA to get out later......

I'd get one for sure. I am running an sts kit with 11psi and haven't had any issues at all. I stuck a ls6 intake on swapped out the valve springs and rocker arms with some slp 1.85 units and the car hauls ***. I pull on C6 z06's, I always like the look on their faces..
ahha.

I love my 98. Just drove 6200 miles to California and back, ran amazing and didn't strand me. I just hit 67k on the odometer. They do have the little difference but you really don't notice unless you read about them on here, haha. Enjoy and good luck with whatever you get.

Is there a way to make the 99+ water temp gauge function like the 98's? Can you replace the sender with an older style unit?

^^I've heard about that being a bitch..

It's not the Temp Sensor or anything like that, it's the way the Gauges recieve the Signal.

I wonder if you wan put in 1998 Gauges and a 1998 Sensor and wire it in..

I used the 1998 Sensor for my Swap and with the 1995 Gauges it's spot on..

I loved mine, yea perimeter bolts, and the PCM aren't the best, but a head swap and you're good, the 98 PCM is good to a 2BAR tune so you can boost up to 15psi and control it, don't need more than that.

I'm with RPM WS6, they have pluses, like tinted rear view wing mirrors, indents on the steering wheel controls, functioning temp gauge, bigger injectors, slightly bigger cam etc.

Not true. A true 98' head was an 806, 853's were 99-mid 00', 241's after that.

IMO I like late 00 and the 01-02. I like late 00 due to the 241 heads and higher cam profile than 01-02. I like the 01-02 due to no EGR and the LS6 intake. On a late 00, just swap to the LS6 intake and get the best of both worlds

Installed cam(ms4) full exhaust and converter(4k) @ 100k.

later on installed PRC ls6 heads ported 9090 410s etc etc etc..

put down over 400rwhp.. bone stock suspension, bottom end, rear end, and transmission..

7.2@95.5 spinning DA was 2k+.. no tune for heads..

shifted at 6200-6300..

beat the HELL out of it everyday for 15k miles.. put it back to stock and sold it still running like a champ!

bought a 98Z m6 for a DD.. ran 8.0@86mph with intake/cutout/lid/maf.. now has a th350 in it with a 5k converter.. still running strong.. 150k miles..
