I did 29.8 once coming back from Lingenfelter. The temps were such that I didn't need to open the windows or turn the AC on. Car was a 6-speed then. This was pure highway miles. My car was running on synthetic oils and had a pretty free flowing exhaust at the time. I believe I was travelling at around 70MPH or maybe 65. I don't quite remember.
That was a long time ago......

From Kansas City to Minnesota in my bolt on cammed 9inch 3.90 gears m6 car I avg 31.4 mpg with cruise set at 75 and a few fun runs in the 140-150 range! It's amazing what these cars can get for mileage with 400whp/chp.. Have fun with em guys!

Whoa, back from the dead! Just to throw it out there, the whole "record" thing is just my sarcasm. I'm not actually challenging anyone or saying I have the best mpg, LOL. And I did get 31mpg on the way to my parent's house but on the way back I got like 27 or 28mpg. It's the same with my 2007 Civic SI, I got 41mpg on the way there and like 36 or 38mpg on the way back. I thought maybe it's more down hill on the way there to explain the differences but both places are at around 3800ft. I kinda feel like going there the wind is at your back while going back home it feels like you are fighting wind the whole time. Needless to say, the point of the thread is that I got 31mpg with an over 200 mile trip in a 400+hp car.

Nice, I got 29.8 MPG from Atlanta back to Charlotte(around 250 miles). Once the converter locks up(at 42 mph) it's smooth sailing. The only problem is around town when it's not locked up it destroys gas.

When my car had 3.42's I went to Montana and averaged 28 mpg. I drive 5-8 mph over the posted speed limit which is 78-83 mph most interstates out west. Coming home I had a strong tail wind in Wisconsin and I had a fuel run where I got 31 mpg with the cruise set on 78 mph. We made the whole trip with the tops out. I've had 4.11's since 2005 and average 25 mpg on trips with them.

From Houston to Dallas, my Formula got just above 28mpg with 3.73s - all highway driving doing 65-75 and staying away from WOT runs does wonders. Driving around town and getting on it, I get about 18mpg - well worth the sacrifice for the fun I have.
