Default Building a race car lsx need opinions....

Hey guys I'm new to the f body scene but have been building and racing cars my whole life. I have always wanted an f body so now is the time to start. I had a 10 second 4 banger dsm that I built and tuned my self. I have some questions for all the experts. I will be building the car right away and won't be messing with any stock components. Planning on built lsx motor, th400 or powerglide, 9" rear, engine management, roll cage, custom turbo kit, etc. The car will be street driven still. So here's my questions:

1. Are the six cylinder chassis's the same as the 8 cylinders? My thoughts here are getting the car cheaper since I will be upgrading everything anyway
2. What year chassis would be be the best to get? I like 98 up the best.
3. How do you guys pass emissions on obd2? Lol my old car was obd1 and I could tune it to pass.
4. I am open to any suggestions

Thanks Matt

The chassis are the same, but you'll end up have to swap a LOT of parts out to get the V8 in there and working. I'd suggest finding a blown V8 car and using that over buying a V6 car and having to swap everything in just to get the V8 in the car.

The k member is different from the 6 to the 8 car, so you would need to swap that out. But since you wanna go turbo, it would be easier to use an aftermarket k member anyway I would think. I say get a 6 cylinder car.

Yeah if you're going to swap the k-member, rear end, suspension, brakes, etc. etc. etc. I'd say it doesn't really matter what you get. Whatever you find the cheapest i guess.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It still would be easiest to get a v8 car, considering I dont want to have to swap/make a wiring harness, but now I know my options. What aftermarket K member do you guys recommend?

Lol trust me I already do that but its different for obd 2, since the emission machine actually hooks up to the cars computer. Elaborate if you dont mind.

Just so you know, If you get a 6cyl chassis, a v8 engine harness will plug right in( at least on my 1998 it did). There might be an issue with the gas pedal though. I forget what year they changed(1999ish) went to fly by wire on the v6 cars, the v8's kept the cable.
