I'm getting ready to do a head swap on my camaro (134k stock bottom end). When it goes back together, I'll change the oil and run an Amsoil filter with Amsoil 10w30 synthetic.

I work for car quest and I get the blue filters which are made by Wix. Pretty cheap, filter and flow great, and I get a discount I've always had great oil pressure with these. 40 psi at idle, 60 at light acceleration, and spikes to near 80 psi at WOT.

If I remember right, they have poorly-designed check valves and a smaller filtering area than other similar filters.

Cardboard ends, small holes, poor filtration, lousy bypass valves.....

Fram filters are JUNK. Where have you been?

Ever wonder why they're so cheap at the store?

I don't know if I would trust a filter that long. True, it'll stop the dirt but where does it stay? In the filter. The way it works with lubricants today is oil will last longer than the filter. As I recall, when synthetic lubricants came out, you could keep the oil for three filter changes. Just top off the oil.
