Yes. You don't need forged internals or anything lol.

Do you mean is it safe to run on the stock tune? The anwser to that is yes as well. A ported throttle is not going to make a sufficient enough change in the amount of air coming into the engine to require a retune. You don't need to worry about getting a retune until you get a cam or something. You can put headers, intake, underdrive pulley etc. on an otherwise stock engine/tune, and not have to worry about it blowing up.

it will work fine, don't expect to feel a difference but it's one of those "every small thing helps" type of mods

ZOMG!!!

No way do not do this!!

A friend of mine told me his uncles neighbor did one for his sons friend and his car shortly blew up afterwards.

They said the velocity of the air coming in now the engine could not keep up with the amount of air the throttle body no provided and it spun the engine too fast causing it to spin a main bearing

i heard if the tb is way too ported, it can let too much air in and spin the motor so fast that it actually will spin backwards and all your forward gears will become reverse gears and you'll be stuck with only one forward gear...

but no, on a serious note, as was said, its a small mod you'll prob feel more in throttle response than in power. but it will help more when you get more power in general.

safe, but if you have a stock or flowmaster catback, or any other shitty restrictive catback, a ported TB matched with a lid will shake the hell out of your pipes if you have an exhaust leak.

Ask me how i know

easiest is to just send out your stock one for porting. I sent mine to New Era Performance and am happy with their work and turnaround time.

Of course to most guys, this question will merit a bit of sarcasim. At the end of the day though, that's what this site is for, to answer even the most basic of questions.

As stated above, you can absolutely run a ported throttle body without a tune, as it's a very mild mod, but every bit helps.

Good luck and don't be afraid to ask more questions!

Cheers

just make sure they didn't do anything funny like drill out (or drill another) hole to help it idle with a cam.
