I've seen those tips on a number of them..are you sure about those tips not being stock? SLP offered several different exhaust setups on the SS cars FWIR.

I thought that the 98-00 cars had a slightly more aggressive cam with crappier heads and intake meanwhile the 01-02's got the ls6 intake with a less aggressive cam and better heads?

all stock LS1 heads flow about the same in stock form. The more aggressive cam came with EGR and the slightly smaller cams didnt need EGR. Not a play for more or less power, just emissions BS.

Remember, Evan Smith wen't 12.80's-12.90's not once but twice on two seperate occasions, in 1999 and 2002 with two different cars. GMHTP also wen't high 12's with a stocker, Car Craft 13.1. I've seen numerous 13.0-13.1 stock passes over the years with my own eyes. This is a LS1 Camaro being driven to it's fullest potential by an expert driver. There's not many of those out there that's why it's so hard for most to believe.
EDIT: looks like someone already posted the article with Evan. I still have that issue of MM&FF sitting in the library.

I agree. It's quite a few people around that doubt their own cars potential just because they aren't competent behind the wheel. That's too bad.
