SS comes with slightly better exhaust, i dont believe it so too bad, F U to the guy that said i must drive a rustang. these cars are old enough that someone probably did something to it and your about the 5th owner so you have no clue! when these first came out the magazines rated a completely stock Z28 at 13.8 and an SS at 13.5 how did they get faster over time? BS!

o1's & 02's have better exhaust manifolds and ls6 intakes, BUT SMALLER CAMS! (lift 475 vs 498). SS has better exhaust (muffler)& gears than z28. plus some suspension otherwise just looks.

They didn't get FASTER...with any kind of driver and good air they have always been pulling good numbers. I remember all of my friends pulling 13.5 @ 105mph over and over again during the summer in bone stock LS1 Automatic cars here at Cordova... that was back in 1999 even.
The SS also never had any real 1/4 mile advantage over the Z28 so it appears that you have been reading way to many magazines. (Save for the SLP '345' package or similar equipped SS... a lid / catback is going to give a slight advantage everytime...I picked up .74mph in the 1/4 with a lid/fra.)

I can tell by your previous post you dont have the slightest clue about the difference between an SS and a Z28. The SS was an appearance package, period. Thats all you are gauranteed to get. Anything else was optional and cost extra money on top of the base price of the appearance package. Not all SSs got extra/optional equipment, they were all different as far as what they got and didnt get based on what was available. Im refering to LS SSs btw.

Just watch the videos in my sig...100% unmodified car (well...the rims were spray painted...if you want to count that against me)... Actual dragstrip times, two different drivers (the fiancee's 4th pass down a strip in here life), two different dates, same car.
