Anyways, I've reported all of this to GM. Hopefully they follow up on it.

I am glad you officially complained to GM. They might actually be receptive now since heads rolled in the past year or so. They might figure it is time to re-train the dealership management in public relations and customer service. I have been fortunate at most GM dealerships but your experience was typical of the 'dinosaur' mentality that eventually destroyed customer relations and American car sales across the country.

Price has gotta get alot better before I would even consider a new Camaro. I would hate to even see what full coverage insurance would be on one of them. Cause you know the auto insurance crooks are just as bad as the car salesmen now a day. I believe I'll just keep mine.

yeah car salesmen are the worst. i guess the biggest thing that gets me is on used cars and the trade in value vs. retail. what you have to trade is **** and what they got is THE ****. basically they get a car on trade, maybe change the oil/fluids, then sell at retail. they make 6-10 grand for nothing. i cant believe how hard headed these guys can get even if they only make 2-3k profit, versus their 6k they're wanting...blows me away.

GM has done some follow up. I have recieved two calls from them. 1 just making sure they have the story straight and to tell me they have no power over what the dealer charges. Which I told them, duh, I already knew that, but you can't have dealers selling used cars at new prices. Then a few days later, I get the case #. They said they keep it on record for the dealerships next performance review. Whatever that means.

I actually had good experience buying two G8's - my wife's in OKC and my brother's in Omaha. First salesman was a retired UAW guy from Michigan who worked on creating forms for quarter panels. Very interesting to talk to. Second guy was in his 30's - straight up, no bs, great guy.

I like dealing with small town dealers personally. I traded in an 03 s10 for an 06 dodge ram about six months ago when the economy REALLY sucked. They gave me KBB trade in value and gave me the dodge for KBB trade in plus $500.00. The deal turned out awesome for me.

Stopped in a local dealership the other night to browse around at the C5's and C6's. Salesman immediately tried to move me into an 02 C5 with 31k, all options silver/black auto. Went inside and he came back with 21,500.

That's crazy, almost 40k for a Camaro, and a USED one at that.
That's why this thing is going to be a flop, most people that actually WANT one aren't going to be able to afford one.

There was a silver 2010 Camaro SS with 8,000 miles on it, they said the owner has been driving it which you can clearly tell because it already had paint chips on the front. They wanted 40K for it, I laughed and walked away. I think dealerships are going to kill GM, on every Camar advertisement you see numbers like 33k fully loaded, you go to the dealership and its 40k+. Across the street Ford is selling mustangs for mid to high 20's, go figure why its so hard to beat mustang sales.

It's the off-season up here in NY so there's decent deals to be had on '10 Camaros...I've seen several fully loaded 2SS cars advertised as low as for 31-32K, so you know they have room to move.

they didn't qualify if it was a manual, checked mine on fueleconomy.gov & it got too good fuel economy. I love cars & sell cars at a dealership-the real money is made in parts & service but 40k for used is stupid to ask when you can buy it new for less.
