Im having trouble deciding on one though.

06 GTO


Id like the GTO cuz its newer and more refined, but the SS/WS6 is just menacing.


Idk what too go with, this will be a toy, not my daily driver....if anyone can give me some advice, much appreciated.

 

Well I'm going to be a little biased because I have an ls1 TA but look at the body style compared to that and the GTO or Camaro. Alot of Camaro guys think the TA is ugly but I think it's one of the nicest cars GM has ever made. Not to mention the T-Tops! Your GTO won't have that and for me that is most of the fun in the summer time cruising the back roads with the tops down. I would also take an SS over a GTO but that's just me. I just think they have more style except for the inside. Good luck either way.

 

Personally I like the F-bodies better because they are older and less "refined".

The GTO is not much of a weekend toy, too bland IMO. It's a nice big cruiser, great for a DD though.

As for Camaro vs Trans Am, I like both. I used to prefer the bird, these days I like the Camaro better. But neither is ugly or bad. Frankly I don't know how anyone that likes one can hate the other, they aren't drastically different in my eyes. But, appearance is subjective so there is no right or wrong answer here. One thing I will say, I much prefer the Camaro (or Formula) interior since you can get cloth - I don't like the leather in a TA.

 

If you were going to DD it I would say GTO but for a toy I would go F-body.

F-body = lighter, solid axle, styling

GTO = LS2, interior

The score is 3-2 F-body

 

For a toy=F-body

 

all boils down to personal opinion, yeah im biased but not stating my answer...lol. truth of the matter is...your looking at getting an LSX, nuff said! wont go wrong with any of them.

 

I've always thought the GTO's look like cavaliers......SS/TA all the way.

I'm going to vote for the f-body also. The LS2 would be fun to mod but f-bods look a little better IMO.

 

i have both,the ss is built and alot faster,but the gto is alot more comfortable,better ride and the interior is 100 times better,radio sounds better to,but theirs a big price difference between the cars to,age might have something to do with it to,if older the gto hands down,if younger fbody,just drive them both and then decide witch u like.

 

I would go with the SS/WS6.....Just not a fan of the body on the newer GTO.

F-Body all the way.

 

 

He's right about the GTO being a glorified Cavalier, but I like them. Get the LS2 for the hood and exhaust (Or for the LS2 lol), Holden body kits and it'll look fantastic, and be built with a lot more quality. But the F-bod will have better performance.

I was soooo torn in my head.

Trying too lean towards the GTO, but the 275 biggest tire, and irs in back wouldn't be fun at the track when ya get up in hp I assume.

Now I'm off too find a minty Artic White SS or black WS6 for me too play with.

Unless I find a crazy low mile GTO ha, make her my highway blaster.
