Default RIP Bertha

Long story short, girl turned in front of me head on, i smacked her rear quarter and spun her into a parked mack truck, then i continued to skid into a parked furnature truck. my poor baby. Guess I'll be parting her out soon, and getting a GTO ]=)

Irony? I only owed $857 left on the title. After 4 years of $270 payments. Sigh.

This is the second F-body I've seen smash something and still look to be pretty straight. Sucks to see one get messed up like that though. It doesn't really look to be THAT bad, however.

That Sucks! Its bogus that with body damage the ins. Co. will total it rather than repair. Body shops charge to much!

It really doesn't look bad... you might be able to get it repaired... ask for diminished value from the insurance company and have them pay it off, might be able to even pocket some extra mod money.

Default smashed ta

First of all, glad you are okay, sorry about the car. At least you smacked a scion. Do you think it is totalled? Sounds like you already have a plan for a new toy. Good Luck

It's not that body shops charge too much it's that insurance don't want to pay. They only pay up to 70% of the vehicle value. Given the busted glass deployed airbags and obvious front end damage it's totalled.

Good part though is that you can take the money that the insurance would have paid to fix it and keep the car. It avoids the car being totalled.

yea the front end damage doesn't look bad enough for them to total it, but replacing the airbags alone will probably cost $1500-$2000 so it'll probably be totaled.

Thats too bad, looked like a nice car, but definitely doesnt have to be the end of it. You could have it repaired and get it back on the road no problem.

Sad to see, never got a chance to paint that Ws9 hood either, looks like the hood survived the crash though.

from what ive learned anytime airbags are deployed the car is considered a total loss plus there is probally frame damage but im not sayin it couldnt be fixed just a pain to fix right

That sucks man. From the way things look though the girl in the scion looks to have gotten the worse end of things. Depending on your insurance company they may not total it. If you (or the other driver I guess) have a discount insurer such as geico, then it'll probably get totaled out. If you're not at fault you can negotiate with the other insurance so they don't total it out.
