Default Can most m6 ls1's catch third gear rubber?

Stock or light bolt on car such as a 98-02 ls1 m6 with catback, and lid. (3.42) gearing. What do you think?

if the clutch doesn't slip, yes. Stock I could, but that was with shitty tires. With a little better street tire i'm not sure, but with bolt ons and gears I still can.

My buddys car has the same mods as you. He goes sideways in 2nd and barks third hard. Although his tires are now not in the greatest shape

When mine was stock I scratched 4th one time with a passenger. that was with goodyear eagle tires. not sure how good they were for grip but they still had plenty of tread left before I switched to my nittos. I'm running a 275 on the rear now. was 245. That might have made a huge difference. Havent tried since though. Dont wanna burn up my new tires.

Yep, and if you're lucky, you'll leave bits and chunks of your 10 bolt all over the street behind you.

is it scratching tires or momentarily locking up while the gears are trying to catch up?

Your just not getting traction so you are just burning rubber and screeching tires.. Our rear ends would fail even more miserably than they already do if the gears were locking up on us. ^^
