Default Is 133k too much?

I am looking at a 2000 Camaro SS but I am a bit skeptical about the mileage. The car has 133,000 miles on the original ls1 bottom-end. Mods are tsp 224/224 114, full bolt-ons including ls6 intake, LT headers, TNT 100 shot wet kit. Car makes 385 motor/ 47x (can't remember) on spray. The cam install was around 80k and the guy has been spraying the 100 shot since a little over 100k. The car was professionally tuned as well. The car seems to run flawlessly, he says the oil has been changed every 3k and he's already replaced numerous items like fuel pump, injectors, factory coil packs, etc. No blow bye or knock or nothing like that. My question is how well do these motors hold up to spray and if I buy it will I be buying an engine that's on borrowed time? I really wan't this car and i'll be getting it for a steal! Any suggestions would be helpful.

Any car that's cammed/sprayed is going to be considered to be on "borrowed time". How much time? Well that's going to depend alot on how the car was maintained and driven.

Lot's of variables, but honestly, I (personally) wouldn't put a lot of faith in the longevity of a 133k nitrous car lol.

Hmm...I see what you mean. The car runs great though, just as well as all the other LS1's i've ridden in even with those miles. The owner showed me paperwork for a recent compression test and all cylinders looked good. And for what he's asking...Man I dunno. I'm confused on this one.

It's commonly said, your gut instinct is generally correct

Would you be ready to put a built bottom end in the car if it goes 6 months down the road? and would you still be happy with the car is it happened? this would be my deciding factor. I have faith in sprayed ls1s that are tuned right and maintained. My last SS in my sig I sold with over 120k miles on it with 60k of them being on spray. The guy who bought it took the kit off and did a heads/cam/LT/FAST setup and it ran awesome. Havent heard since but i saw it almost a year later still running on the stock bottom end.]

also, is the car an auto or manual? if its a stock auto guarantee on rebuilding that and if its a m6 expect to be doing a built rear in the very near future.

60k miles sprayed huh? I guess these motors can be pretty durable with spray then. The guys that tuned it are the same guys that tuned my LT1 and fox stang so I know the tune is top-notch.

The car has a stock T-56. The rear-end is a built 10-bolt with Auburn diff, Moser axles and girdle. I know it won't hold up much past the power level it's at so yeah a new rear-end will be on order soon. For the amount he is willing to sell I think i'd be silly to not hop on this so i'm going to buy it. I'll post up pics soon.

Awesome be sure to post pics. Just dont launch the car on sticky tires very often and the stock 10 bolt should hold.

It would have to be a great deal!! Our cars still runs great at 133k miles but the fact of it being on spray would scare me away at that many miles. Whats the price? Do you know the guy personally?

Hmm...lets just say the car has a blue book value of $7k, and i'm buying it for far less than that. I'll let you guys know exactly what I paid for it once I pick it up today.

Few details about car:

Has a Clean Title!! Car is in very good shape, no dents, dings, couple normal scratches here and there, factory 10-spoke wheels look good with minimal curb rash, interior is in great shape with minimal cracking on the seats (no rips), small tear in the carpet on the drivers side but that's about it.

Options include:
Leather
T-Tops
Monsoon Audio
Factory 10-disc changer out back
Power everything
Traction Control (not sure if this is standard or not in 2000?)

New Parts or Parts Replaced:
Lower Control Arm Bushings
New Shocks
Tune-up done at 100k (plugs, MSD wires, fuel filter)
Rebuilt 10-bolt
McLeod clutch
Water Pump & Thermostat (160*)
New starter

I will post pics! And yes I will keep the launching to a minimal for now until the 9" goes in.

I've known him for while, although not really personally but I always see him around the neighborhood and have had a few words with him here and there. Seems to have a pretty vast knowledge of muscle cars, GM's in particular.

The fact that it had nitrous and 133k miles scared me in the beginning too until he let me drive the car. It pretty much runs just as good as my buddies '02 and he's got like 70 something k miles on his.

Welp, wen't and picked my SS up!!! Just got finish taking the car for a tour around the freeway hoping to run into a race and see what she's all about. She feels strong that's for sure, the exhaust is much quieter than my Cobra. She looks bone-stock though, 10-spoke SS wheels and all. The guy that I bought it from had some Bullitt-style 18" wheels on it but wanted to keep the rims for another car so he put the stock one's back on which is fine with me, I actually like the 10-spokes! I paid $6500 for her! Blue book was $7,000 in excellent condition so I figure I got a steal with the cam and bolt-ons and all the maintenance that's been done to it. I'm going to get my digital cam charged and post a few pics of it. Thanks LS1 guys for your input.
