Well I would be concerned about the rear end if you are going to a sticky tire. A set of heads would be my next upgrade. The AFR 205'S are a proven design. My Absolute Speed 5.3 heads made 435 rwhp with a FM13 cam and a fast 90/90. You should think about where you are going with your mods and where you think you will stop and try and plan from there.

I went with the PRC 5.3 Stage 2.5 heads and love them for my setup. The PRC LS6 heads are also a good budget alternative. TFS and AFR's are definitely a better head however for the difference in price you could cover the cost of drag radials or a N2O kit.
As for the rear end, if you do a bunch of racing from a dig and couple that with a sticky tire, there's always risk to the 10 bolt. Luck of the draw. When I was in your position, I went with heads and a ported FAST 92 over the rear end. The extra power is GREAT, however there's something to be said about being scared to lay it ALL to the ground from a dig -- I'm still very gentle at a dig.

i already have #30 redtop injectors... they are sufficient for my cam only setup but if i added heads im debating going bigger with injectors too...and yes i was definitely going to upgrade fuel system with heads

so heres what im thinkin.... drag radials, adj torque arm, subframe connectors, shocks, and heads?...oh by the way i just bought a 9" from a guy at work for $50!!! looks like i have made some plans for what too!!!
