Post What To Build With 3k?

hey guys just wanting some input on this... im debating on what to do to my car this winter on a 3k budget?...ive already got a 234/242 custom cam, yankss3600 stall, 373s, fast 78 intake and tb, #30 redtops, LTs, ORY, hooker catback, rebuilt trans with trans cooler and shiftkit, lid, spohn lcas with relo brackets. now i already know im going to do more suspension like sfcs, adj trq arm, and definitely drag radials. so advice on things such as heads, fuel systems, free mods, rear end, or just going to a bigger engine would be appreciated! thanks

i was thinking of that but my car only made 370 rwhp so unless my rearend breaks i have no reason to install a new one. 10 bolt will hold more hp than i have...

Umm... trust me, they won't. My car has been through 9 10 bolts, and I broke 2 just cruising. Get an S60/12 bolt/9 inch or your car will be a garage queen.

The first week i bought my car i took it to the track. On the fourth pass the 10bolt blew with my measily 330whp..

Never hurts to make it bulletproof!

well if my rearend goes out ill have to go that route...i saw where some people buy a 9 inch from old trucks and customize them to fit their cars? any advice on that?

I've seen several go that way. Just head to your local salvage yard and look around.

i was thinking of changing from a y pipe to an x pipe with duals? anyone have x pipe and how does it work for you? flow better?

Just get a custom high flow Y pipe fabbed up with a cutout. Or get some TSP true duals.

yeah everyone keeps telling me to get a cutout and just leave it at that.... anyone have a link to where i can learn about customizing a 9" inch from truck? or any advice as to how much money it could cost to make the thing fit my car versus buying one already done?

Alot of you six speed guys dont read the fine line sometimes...Ten bolts really do last alot longer in A4 cars...believe it..its not a myth...

thats what ive heard too... i know alot of guys with A4s and they havent had one problem with their 10 bolt!!

Don't worry about a rear until it breaks.. your a a4, I know alot of a4 people who are pushing 400hp+ to the wheels and STILL on the stock 10bolt.

i already have an RPM stage 3 rebuilt tranny... what do you guys think about PRC 5.3L stage 2.5 heads?... i havent seen many ppl running them?
