Default New here, need help with shopping list

hey all, first time posting but i've been reading for a few weeks.
i'm new to LS engines but not new to Camaros (I have an 84 Z28)

i plan on getting a 2001 or 2002 Z28 by the end of the summer. there are numerous things i plan to do with it.

it will be my daily driver with it getting beat on fairly often.

eventually i'd like to have a little over 400-450hp. but i wouldn't be upset if its a little more =)

i've never been to the track but with my new car i'd like to go a few times, hopefully see it in the 12s or 13s.

in my mind i have a bunch of stuff that i would like to get for it, i would appreciate it if anyone could A)tell me the order of things you think i should get done and B) which things, if any, i list that i could do without.

ok to the list

higher stall converter, possibly 3600 or 3800
Heads and/or cam
LS6 intake
Throttle body
MAF sensor
Cold air intake
headers and an exhaust

Subframe connectors
Tower brace
LCAs/Panhard bar
3.73 posi (i already have the gears and posi)

If you are looking at a 01 or an 02, you can take the LS6 intake off of your list (It will already have one). Get a lid, exhaust, LCA's and brackets, tune. Figure out what kind of cam you want and then choose a converter and heads. But unless you have a bunch of money to throw down, do the basic bolt on's first.

Relocation brackets for LCA's. It will change the angle of your lower control arm for better traction..(I only put this cause you mentioned LCA's) It will prevent wheel hop if you lower the car too. You can just get the lid. Look up SLP, Fasttoys, MTI....

Gotcha, I was tossing around the idea of selling mine and you are fairly local. Either that or putting a cam in it lol. Doesn't make much sense.

oh ok lol, yeah i did the math and i wanna try to pay it off within a year and i could do that with 8 grand being the budget. if the one i'm aiming for is gone, there are a few others with more mileage and i could ****** them and have about $1500 to go to whichever toys i want haha

If you have 1500 to play with I would start with a full exhaust, headers, y pipe and cat back or true duals. If you get everything used you can save a decent amount. Then I would pick up an ls6 intake, ported tb and lid. If you bought all of that new that will run you your $1500 dollars, used you should be able to save a lot of money. That will put you around 350 whp. Then continue to save for the rest of what you want to do.

yeah i was thinking of a headers and a catback up until i saw the true duals from TSP. and now i pretty much have my heart set on that.

the only difference between the car i want and the fall back car, is the one i want has 70,000 miles, the fallback has about 120,000 and the fallback is $1500 less

My car has 97,000 miles. Only thing that has gone wrong in the last 3 years is the clutch went out. It has been reliable, just take care of them and mileage doesn't become a huge issue. With the 120k mile one just see what the owner has replaced, it might be worth it if it has been cared for well.
