Ok guys, i sold my jeep which means i got some money in the bank. What do you think i should do. Heads and cam or an Sts rear mount turbo setup. They will both add about the same power, but the turbo has an advantage of mpg. But its a trans am who cares about mpg, i just wanna go fast. This is what i got: 02 Trans Am WS6 pacesetter headers no cats flowmaster, diabalo programmer, k&n intake, port n polish tb and maf. So far at the track it'll run 8.3 in the 1/8 with stock tires and clutch. What do you guys think, i know the turbo is going to be about double the money. Is it worth it?

i'd do H/C and maybe some spray over an STS. i love FI, but if i were to do it, i'd do it right with a custom front mount. i think the STS kits are so attractive just because they're comparibly cheap and easy to install over a front mount.

Buddy of mine has an STS turbo kit, he's actually a member on this site "TheFugitive". But he ended up with an LQ4 so he can boost it quite a bit. If you just have an LS1 engine, I'd do Head and Cam, seems like less to worry about. And that turbo and piping hang REALLY low.
Unless you are really gung ho about going forced induction, in that case go for it. Some people just want to be boosted and have that as a goal.

I'm in the same boat. But for me its either me porting a set of junkyard 5.3s and buying a used cam or buying the ebay front mount wich I really like but I would have to upgrade the turbo and waste gate for insurance.. idk sts were cheap I thought they're like 6k ???

Used there are many kits under 3 grand, and quite a few for under 2500.
These are all GTO prices, i believe they are even cheaper for F bodies.

From what I heard locally that a few sts have had oiling problems and have messed up and replaced turbos. Maybe that's why so many people sell them? They sound awesome though.. I like the sounds of a turbo car more than a cammed car but u can always have both!!
